on may 29th, 2022, hangman had the opportunity to hit cm punk with the world title belt to win the match.
both times, he did not take the opportunity.
on march 3rd, 2024, hangman page hit swerve strickland with the belt. twice.
to make up for the times he didn't take that chance.
he pulled the leg of the referee - a callback to the times he and the bucks did that to each other, and the one time matt jackson did not.
he yelled in swerve's face - "this is mine! you will will never have it! this is MINE!" as a continuous callback to moments before he lost the world title to cm punk, where he said the exact same thing, and he lost.
so much decay, and yet time is a flat fucking circle.
