I HC Pau knows a lot of languages so when he doesn't know the English word, he says it in a different language and since Red army have grew use to it, they're like 'Ohhh- you meant that word. We get it now.' So imagine Pau forgetting the word for something simple so he's stood there, saying the word in Dutch and pointing at the thing.
“Why is Pau pointing at that ficus”
“I dunno he’s been doing that and saying something for like, 5 minutes now”
“Should we help...?”
“... nah, he’ll be fine-”
Pau, 20 minutes later at his desk: “.. PLANT! That’s the word. Got it.”

This is more or less a headcanon but I've always liked the idea of Edd being Russian and growing up there so He wouldn't know English that well.
If I were to give Edd first language, I’d like to think he knows Spanish really well. Maybe because I’ve seen it where Edd knows Spanish bc of Eduardo, and Norwegian because of Tord.
But I like this one too. Edd often forgets what certain words are in English and he struggles to explain what he means, while Tom attempts to recode his sentence.
Edd: “Where’s the... ob"yedki?...” (I just put the word in google translate don’t come for me)

hey I was looking through this blog for old times sake and thought I'd revisit an old au I sent in: rwby au. Matt is ruby, Edd is yang, Tom is blake, and Tord is weiss. Tom's weapon is a compact harpoon gun that has a built in backup sword, tord's is gauntlets that can fire shotgun shells and mini missles, edd's is a large hammer that doubles as a gun, and matt's is a special set of mirrors that can reflect attacks and shoot knives powered with dust. I might make them semblences but idk haha

WTFuture Brothers AU?
I made an AU where the WTFuture selves of Edd, Matt, Tom and Tord are their older brothers. Thorin, Tord's brother AKA Red Leader, runs the Red Army that conquers the world and hopes to have Tord run his army someday. Tom brother, Thomas, works for Thorin and has a slightly strained relationship with Tom because of Thorin. Matt and his brother, Matthew, has an okay-ish relationship but Matthew would die or kill anybody for Matt. As for Edd's brother, Edward (yes, I'm terrible with names), he was once close to Edd since they were young but over the years, they've fallen apart and he hasn't talked to Edd in years but Edd always hopes he'll call or visit someday.
((AU Bonus: the Ellsworld girls are the little sisters to their male counterparts)
