It felt like hours have passed since Iris arrived at the Police Department. Waiting  outside the building the woman couldn’t stop fiddling with her hands, setting her eyes on the station every now and then, hoping to spot a familiar face. Sure, she could’ve just walked in asking to talk to him, but this needed more time.                             It wastoo important. Maybe she should’ve called Barry first, at least ask him when hewould be free, instead of barging in on him right after work.She really hoped she didn’t miss him, oh how stupid it would be to wait for someonewho wasn’t even there. As she looked up to the building for the tenth time in just a few past seconds, she  could feel howrelief was taking over her body — for a second even a smile appeared   on her face, as she saw the familiar figure exiting the building.                       ❝Barry!❞ Moving one hand up and waving in his direction, Iris hoped not to catch him off guard (and that he actually had time to talk). The reporter didn’t notice that she had been walking towards him, it only came to her when she was standing right infront of him. She didn’t want to seem desperate, even if it wasn’t untrue.                                ❝Barry … I hope I’m not                                  — do you have a moment?❞

                              It had been just a NORMAL day for the CSI  ---   As normal as a day filled with forensic work  &   breaks where he pulled on a red suit to speed through the city playing hero could be. But like all days, it had to come to an end   (  the forensics work anyway  )   they were closing the building  &   wouldn’t let him stay LONGER  ;   even through his protests.

                              So here he was, satchel pulled over his shoulder   (  filled with cases he was DEFINITELY going to try to solve over dinner  )   fingers fiddling with the flash ring on his finger as he catches sight of Iris. Eyes lighting up in a way they did WHENEVER he saw her, returning her call with a joyful      ‘   Iris  !   Hey   ’      As he helped close the space between them.

                                   Okay so chances are if we had a thread it’s DROPPED in efforts to have a bit of a clean start on this blog, so moving forward consider this a starter call for all of my verses  &   if I’m having trouble figuring something out I will probably dive into your IM’s for plotting. as soon as she was scooped up into his arms, her feet couldn’t help but kick a little. a little surprised by how strong he was, she let out a rather happy sounding laugh as her lips met his cheek again. barbara didn’t get out to central city often, but when she did, she was happy to be welcomed back with such loving arms.

            “oh yes, i am well aware of that, mr allen – which is why i have requested a story”, the strawberry blonde joked, red lips curling up a bit more – he had that effect on her, lighting up her mood whenever she was feeling blue. “of course i do. your smile too”, she whispered, before playfully poking his cheek “and your little dimple.” lydia was acting silly and she was aware of that but she did not care, she knew he would never judge her. truthfully, it was a relief to be able to say and do whatever she wanted without worrying about what people would think. not that his opinion on her did not matter but that was a different topic. at the mention of the mug, the girl rolled her eyes to hide the pink tone her porcelain cheeks now carried. “come on, there is no way that was the best present you ever got. you are just saying this to make me feel better.”
