“Trust me, I’m all for justice and right doings, don’t think I’ll be giving you trouble anytime soon.” unless she gets pissed off at someone or something. May you rest in peace, sweet vending machine that swallowed her money… Should’ve thought twice before committing such sin. “I’d love to see you there. I’ll be sure to give you the best drink in town.” wink.
“You fought for others? That’s what huntresses do too,” she offers a softer smile, reaching for the cooler beside her and getting two cans of soda for them. “Here. Being a huntress means protecting the ones who can’t fend for themselves, it’s doing your best regardless of the circumstances. You gotta be fierce.”
Same altruistic hat!
“Oh yeah, we get trained and shaped up at an academy, we learn all sorts of cool stuff. Mine’s Beacon!” or used to be… she takes a sip from her soda to wash off that bitter taste in her mouth. “Tell me a little bit about your world, will you?”
Lucina cracked open the cold one with the girl and took a sip. Sugary, bubbly, absurdly sweet. She liked it. It was probably the same kind of stuff she saw people drink at Burger Barn, judging by the name of the brand.
“Being a huntress seems like difficult but rewarding hard work. I’m sure you’ve done your fair share of good deeds for others.” Her smile thoughtful, she looked at her can of soda, tapping its rim.
“It’s interesting to compare my world to the stories of this one. Tales of great warriors, monsters, dragons. Kings and queens, mages of great power, warring over territory and power.”
Her eyes rose up to meet Yang’s. With a wink, she took an unnecessarily dramatic tone. “And what if I told you it were true?”
Waiting a little bit for what she said to have some sort of effect, she then continued. “The sort of things folks in Stella City deem archaic or fantastic, that is what the continent of Ylisse was like.”
“I suppose what you told me of beacon is similar to the kind of training I underwent in my youth. Training to fight for the ones that are dear to you.”
Her eyes lowered once more to her can. “’Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.’ I suppose I’m the latter. Phoenix was the one to teach me this quote and--”
Was it just her or was the sun scalding hot? Oh jeez. “Sorry, Yang, I didn’t mean to make this conversation a little too serious.” Lucina took another sip of her drink.
