Meta + Betrayal. How does Starrk respond to and cope with betrayal after the fact?
Oh BOY, this is a whole thing. To put it plainly, Starrk doesn't handle betrayal well at ALL. He is the literal definition of an unhealthy coping mechanism. He doesn't forgive those who betrayed him, and he CERTAINLY does NOT forget. Another factor that needs to be taken into account in terms of how he handles the betrayal and its immediate aftermath is just how close the betrayer was to him. As an example, when Nelliel was attacked by Nnoitra and Szayelaporro. At that point, Starrk had considered them all apart of the same group. Certainly not friends by any strech, but to him You dont attack your own. His own friendship with Nel aside, (which truthfully only fueled the rage) it took intervention from beyond the espada to assure that Starrk didn't rip people in half.
One more example: If Starrk were ever to see Aizen in Muken, he would LOSE HIS MIND. Aizen had used Starrk's lonliness for his own benefit, tossing him aside just like the canon surviving espada. The most unexpected knife cuts deepest, and up until the end of the fake karakura town battle. Starrk didn't expect the knife from aizen. Thats why he'd lash out so voraciously, the betrayal alongside the fact that he'd be furious with himself for letting it happen. He'd blame himself for not seeing it coming.
