Waezi2′s thoughts on “Beast Complex” chapter 23.

I wanted to blog about this gem for a while now. "The Wolf and The Dog" is as Paru as it get.

Meet Adamo.

Adamo is a 61 year old dog, a German shepherd to be specific. And he is a notorious stalker. And he is very good at it, but we will get to that in a minute.

Adamo doesn't think that what he does is creepy. He has an excellent nose and is a born tracker since that's what his family has been bred to be. Yes, even in Beastverse, dogs are a result of selective breeding.

His stalking is not of nefarious reasons as such, he is just obsessed with following animals his nose gets the attention of and learn everything about them for no reason than the satisfaction of the hunt.

But one day, the nose of this old dog catch a very special scent.

On his way home, Adamo notice a female wolf in his train who carries a massive bouquet of flowers with strong pleasant scents. As if she is hiding something. That's something a herbivore would normally do, so this catches Adamo's attention right away. He starts sniffing and learns surprisingly much about her, like that she can't be more than twenty and that she must work in an office filled with females as he can't notice any male scents. And she uses so much makeup and soap, anything to dim her own smell.

In his own mind, Adamo sees himself "painting" the female wolf and he now stalks her to learn everything about her.

Adamo gets sloppy for a second and gets noticed by the wolf. But she apparently doesn't realize he is stalking her, so she just smiles at him and goes on about her business... or her smile is a warning... or perhaps an invitation?

Adamo realize he is much more fixated about this wolf than any other of his targets, spending a month following her around.

It even seems like the old dog starts to have a strong affection towards the female wolf who BTW is named Fasa(appropriate name for her, look it up after reading this blog). She seems like a model citizen, early to bed, early to work and always nice to the elderly.

But in a Paru manga, that's often a red flag.

Adamu gets a closer look at her apartment...

... Damn.

Sure, there are plenty of predators in the Beastverse, but Fasa is an organized one, having chopped up her victim, keeping the different parts in bags in her fridge and eating brain and eyeballs, not wasting anything.

Adamo is shocked by what the female he has a creepy crush on has done and, without thinking, yells something he have not said in a long time:

Yep, Adamo is a retired police detective. No wonder he is such an effective stalker. And seeing someone committing a predator crime wakes up the old cop.

Fasa is however not intimidated by the old fart, she knew she was being watched, she just got sloppy and forgot to close her curtains. She smiles at Adamo when he says he used to be a police officer, recognizing a fellow canine who is a slave to their instincts. Fasa is a slave to her hunting instincts while Adamo is very much a dog, having only joined the police because he is good at tracking and at following orders. And now that he is retired, he keeps tracking other animals because he doesn't know what else to do.

Fasa then embrace Adamo, making the dog terrified as he has no idea if he is gonna end up in the wolf's fridge as well or if she is hugging him since they are "the same".

But then the actual cops comes.

Fasa is surprisingly calm about being arrested, not resisting at all. Feeling guilt about his unhealthy hobby, possibly because he was just reminded that he used to be a cop who arrested creeps like himself, Adamo is about to confess to the police officers that he is a stalker, but Fasa interrupts him.

Fasa claims that Adamo is in her apartment because she had kidnapped him and was about to eat him as well, then whispers to him that they are not similar at all.

... Makes you wonder if that is suppose to be assuring as his stalking is nowhere near as bad a crime as what she has done... or if it is degrading as he as a dog is a pale shadow of what a wolf is.

Either way, she smiles as she tells him to take care of himself, and the manga then ends with a perfect panel:

Adamo stands between the strong-smelling flowers Fasa used to hide the scent of the blood of her victim/victims, like she is covering up for his crime of stalking. The symbolism is chef-kiss worthy!

This is most likely in the top five of the best chapter of Beast Complex. Its a bittersweet tale and it is kinda funny how Fasa manage to appear more noble than Adamo... or at least have more dignity.

That's all for now. I'm Waezi2, and thanks for wasting time with me.

Got me back into Beastars even after buying the entirety of the manga series and two Beast Complex spinoffs. Wonderful blog, always nice to read.

Makes even the spoilers for the volumes I can't get yet just so trivial I can just ignore them and just enjoy the ranting.

Absolutely blessed page.

Why Legosi cheated on Haru

I think I speak for everyone that Legosi having sex with another animal when he had barely kissed Haru was quite a shocker for everyone. Did he do it since he REALLY thought it was part of his new training, or is he just an asshole who has no control over his rabbit fetish?

This blog is a long one, so click link below:

Waezi2′s thoughts on “Beast Complex” chapter 18.(April the 1st blog)

So, it is impossible to read chap 18 online atm since there is some trouble with the site where it is originally posted. But Im in a group where I watch as people translate the series, so I can tell you about the chapter that this time is about Airdo the Lion and Ako the Rabbit.

Remember those guys?

Yep, its the two idiots who Haru met. Their relationship went… sour, after they made out and that resulted in the normally gentle Airdo attacking Ako, leaving her with big scars on her head.

But whatever happened to those two?

This chapter takes place about a year after the incident. Airdo sees a poster that says that Ako is part of a beauty contest. She has been given the nickname “The Scar-Faced Angel.” Airdo had no idea she had returned to college and that she seems to be as social as she used to be. Airdo haven’t seen her since they were in court, and he decides to go see her so he can try apologize to her and see if she is okay.

image

Airdo expects to be kicked in the groin or something… But Ako is actually happy to see him.

The two of them leave the tennis club’s court, confusing Ako’s friends since they find it odd she would have anything to do with the lion who almost ate her.

But not as confused as Airdo when Ako starts lecturing him. She says that his timing is bad, that he should have waited to come to see her till Monday since this day is a holiday. It is easier to start rumors on a normal school day like Monday.

Yep, Ako haven’t changed at all, she is still very fixated when it comes to her reputation.

The two of them decides to go to Airdo’s place and get a drink.

And then, once they are alone inside his apartment, Airdo finished what he started and ate Ako. An act of revenge since she ruined his life.

Yeah, right! April fools!

HEHEHE! Sorry not sorry :)

I will write a REAL blog asap

Waezi2′s thoughts on “Beast Complex” chapter 24

So we know that birds flying around in the Beastverse is a thing, but how exactly are the laws for flying? Do you need a license to be allowed to fly? Are there no-fly zones? "The Albatross and the Orangutan" gives us the answers to that.

We seen so many police officers

We seen dog cops, gorilla cops. eagle cops, we even seen peacock cops.

But no pig cops.

Paru is not one to go for the obvious. Respect!

So, last season of Beastars coming soon

I have somewhat a mix of high and low expectations.

God knows the Melon arc was not perfect so the Netflix series could potentially fix some of the problems I have with it.

But one season to wrap all that up? Also, it's Netflix adaptions are either hit or miss with Netflix.

But I'm sure the op will be awesome :)

"What makes you think you can treat him like that!?"

When Charlie goes to Valentino's studio to discuss Angel and his work hours, she has no idea that Angel is scared of Valentino. Sure, she is not comfortable with Angel working in a porn studio but she still think of it as Angel's job and even apologies for sounding rude to Val about his "art." She has no idea what is going on, is annoyingly chipper and even trying to be helpful(resulting in a fire).

But after Val had a "word" with Angel in private, Charlie finally understands what is going on and it makes her both horrified and furious. She had no idea that Angel was being abused by Valentino till she saw that black eye.

"What makes you think you can treat him like that?" is an actual question, she is baffled as well as enrage. She can't phantom how he can justify this behavior.

What do you do when you like Charlie have an optimistic world view and thinks that people can change if you are kind enough to them and it gets challenge by Valentino who is needlessly awful?

Hazbin Hotel's indifferent devil

So, we all been excited to see Hazbin's take on Lucifer. And I'm glad I was 76% right about Luc not really being thrilled about his kingdom.

Lucifer is a fallen angel who gave humanity knowledge and free will. It turned out... sour. So it makes sense that he would be somewhat bitter. But instead of taking his anger out on his subjects, he decides that they can screw each other over for all he cares.

So, yeah. Lucifer, unlike Charlie, don't give a damn about the sinners. He shrugs when he talks about them being in pain since he doesn't think they deserve any help or mercy.

So is it any wonder Hell sucks so much? Their king won't lift a finger to try and make the place bearable. He has an agreement with Heaven that they will spare him and his family whenever there's an extermination but the sinners must flee for their afterlives when the angels arrive. He can even look at the sinners tearing each other apart and laugh about them wasting their free will being awful.

Sure, I can get his disappointment and shame, how it must suck to be in charge of a dumpster fire, getting a crown he didn't ask for. But the sinners are his subjects as well as his responsibility since he was the one who granted them the will to be assholes and psychopaths.

The guy spends more time on designing rubberducks and feeling sorry for himself than Hell's affairs. And his attitude is what estranged his relationship to his daughter since mocking the sinners and saying they don't deserve a chance is mocking what Charlie stands for.

Cherri Bomb... Good bad friend or bad good friend?

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt that Cherri is a very caring friend and she has nothing but Angel's best interest at heart.

... Problem is that she doesn't know what Angel needs. Worse, she thinks she does.

She means well and takes Angel out to a club to get some drinks and let off some steam. Or rather, she takes him out to get wasted beyond believe. Problem for someone like Angel is that this becomes a crutch, even more so when he goes and do this shit alone as we have seen him do in ep 4.

Chances are that Cherri doesn't know that what for her is an extreme lifestyle becomes a destructive sort for Angel. And she stops him from actually telling her how he feels, how tired, scared and done he is with Val. Again, she means well, she thinks that stopping Angel from talking too much about all the cruelty Val puts Angel though is doing him a favor as she doesn't want him to fixate on it and stop worrying all the time... possibly with help from some "pills."

And Cherri was more than ready to let Niffty keep drinking despite her being extremely wasted, thinking it is all in good fun, not realizing that just because she can handle her booze that it is not the same as saying that Niffty can.

BUT it should also be said that Cherri can see that the hotel has been good for Angel and she is happy to see he feels good about himself, even if she thinks he has become a bit more boring. And the fact that Angel is not as "wild" as he used to be doesn't change that they are friends and she is there on the day of the battle for the Hazbin Hotel since it is something Angel cares deeply for, making it worth fighting for in her book.
