No really, please reblog this if you can, because this site in general, but fandom spaces especially bad for this, to the point where people are genuinely afraid of harassment they may face for saying ‘Pedophilia is a bad thing and you probably should not encourage it’ or for calling it what it is. Fandom spaces are also especially bad for screaming about how it’s ‘just fiction’ when we know damn well that fiction impacts reality.

There are measures coming out of Democrat controlled House of Representatives in the form of bills. The 14 day sick leave bill? House of Representives. Push for better protectios for unemployment? House of Representatives. Medicare expansion? House of Representatives. House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives is part of the US federal government and it is trying so hard.

What’s happening- over and over - is that the Republicans Majority in the Senate are refusing to vote yea on the bills coming from the House so they can take effect when Mitch McConnell(KY-R) allows the bills to be voted on at all.

So kill the narrative that the US government is stopping a sane and reasonable result to COVID19 and focus on the specific aspect of the federal government that is preventing progress in the face of a pandemic - the Republicans in the Senate who won’t approve their constituents medical care or time off even if it will save jobs, savings and lives.

McConnell is the Senate Majority Leader and has built his reputation on being the man of “Nope.” All he does or says to ANYTHING that is not explicitly GOP driven is: “Nope.”

It’s a very simple and very blunt strategy. And it fucking works.

Everything that is happening right now is happening because McConnell is the one saying “nope” to any and all solutions to address the situation.

Because he doesn’t want to let the ‘other side’ have a win.

Our tree, which I posted a picture of yesterday, was also supposed to have popcorn garlands alongside the cranberries. Unfortunately, the ability to make popcorn on the stove seems to have eluded me, and I badly burnt TWO batches before giving up. I’m back at work today and EVERYTHING smells like burnt popcorn. The smoke must have clung to all my clothes. One of my clients asked about the “weird smell”. Guess I’m doing a lot of laundry tonight…

@iolitewitchcraft Popcorn is actually REALLY easy to burn so don't feel bad. My main tips are as follows...1. Make sure the kernels you use are actually meant for stove top popping. 2. Make sure you didn't forget to add a fat for it to cook in, like butter or oil- I recommend just veg oil if you're just decorating with it. Its generally 2-3 tablespoons of fat to 1/3 cup of kernels. 3. Make sure to stir up the kernels and fat of your choice so that they are all coated. 4. Cook the kernels on a LOW heat. Its very tempting to cook at a high heat because the logic is that it'll get done faster, but it just increases the chance of an uneven cooking temp and therefore burning. 5. Make sure you stir, stir, stir! Don't let the kernels just sit in the pan because they will most likely get overheated/have an uneven temp and won't pop or burn or both.

There’s this thing called the threefold law or the law of three that at least applies to some wiccans, it says that anything you put out into the world magically will come back to you three times stronger. That’s why I don’t curse or cast spells for selfish reasons. I try to respect that law.

I’m Pro cursing. I’m not Wiccan and I’ve heard all the go around about the three fold law, etc.

I’ve heard the phrase that what goes around comes around but sometimes you are what comes around

CURSING is not inherently moral or amoral, like karate or a knife. It is a skill, a tool, for attack and defense. What people do with it? doesn’t matter. There is no divine judgement that will smite someone who curses.
