on todays episode of me making every single song in taylor swifts discography everlark related…i present you this verse of all too well (taylor’s version) (10 min version)

  • “keychain on the ground, we were always skipping town” from their first games, the victory tour and the 75th games, katniss and peeta left district 12 a whole lot more than the average person in their district
  • “and i was thinking on the drive down, anytime now, he’s (shes) gonna say it’s love” changed he to she because this line perfectly describes peeta’s confusion surrounding katniss’ feelings toward him
  • “you never called it what it was” this line REALLY hurts if you think about it during the scene of the mockingjay movie when hijacked peeta says “did people say you love me” and katniss says “they say that’s why snow tortured you. to hurt me” LIKE GIRL. you love him- everyone else with eyes can see it except u
  • “till we were dead and gone buried, check the pulse and come back swearing. it’s the same, after three months in the grave” and then when katniss even began to have some idea that “you know what? maybe this funky little feeling i have about peeta is love!” it was too late because peeta was 1,000 miles away in the capitol being hijacked to kill her.
  • “and then you wondered where it went to, as i reached for you but all i felt was shame” once again from peetas pov as katniss wondered where his feelings for her went and as he began to slowly come out of his hijacking and felt shame for how he treated her.
  • “and you held my lifeless frame” this line coupled with the one both it during the “stay with me” “always” scene when peeta is having his attack in the underground train station thingy in the capitol really hurts

Friendly reminder Peeta was entirely convinced once he was gone Katniss would be with Gale. That she'd be happier with him even after losing him...

And Katniss shuts him down with that nonsense COMPLETELY by telling him she needs him on the beach.

Make no mistake, Gale is a huge part of Katniss's life and they have a very comfortable, warm relationship. Certainly there is love there between them. But it isn't the love she has and wants with Peeta. And at the first opportunity Katniss is the first to tell him that.
