Just watched space jam 2 and i liked it. It was a fun movie! I didn’t really have a problem with all the references to WB properties although i wish they redid the scene in the original with Daffy kissing his own ass, ‘cause that’s what this movie did a lot lmao.

However, there was a major issue towards the end that i did not like how it was handled, so I’m gonna outline it and post what I would’ve written for it. Probably will post the actual screenplay i wrote for it too lmao.

Spoiler warning!

Anyway, i did not like how space jam 2 handled the ending. I did not have any major problems with the movie except the ending. I get the whole gag that ‘a tune can’t die’ but i kinda wish it didn’t have a fake out like that.

Bugs had been deleted due to a glitched basketball move during the game. In turn, the James family completely forgot about that part and moved on with their lives without ever wondering what happened to bugs. Like, they just glossed over it entirely and I can’t forgive that.

So, my idea, summarized:

Bugs Bunny becomes entirely glitched. Like, frozen in place, glitching between 2D and 3D, his various catchphrases just jumbled together, completely corrupted. once everyone is done celebrating they realize this, but Lebron and Dom are already being teleported back to the real world and there’s nothing else they can do.

The tunes are freaking out. They try various ways to get bugs to respond but to no avail. They begin to lose hope.

In the real world, the James family have not forgotten bugs’ fate. Dom is especially concerned, and sprints past his family to find the manual override of the servers, an old desktop just pushed in the corner and covered in dust. He logs in using an old sticky note and begins to go through each file until he finds the bugs bunny file. The computer alerts him that its corrupted and needs permission to delete. Dom selects yes.

In the Tune world, bugs bunny is deleted. His model completely disappears, leaving the tunes around him frozen as realization sets in. Then, complete chaos. They all burst into dramatic tears, begging for bugs to come back.

In the real world, Dom finds the backup file of bugs and runs it.

In the Tune world, while everyone is sobbing, they hear a familiar voice tell them to stop being so dramatic. Tune’s can survive anything, remember?

The tunes all crush bugs into a group hug, happy ending.

A few tips for applications

Applications will open June 7th! Here’s a few tips that will help you:

  • For the applications you don’t need to send in completed animations. If you have rough animations which showcase your skills well, that is good enough.
  • You should also send in some completed illustrations or other artwork to show how your completed works look. These will help us gauge your skill level.
  • If you have a portfolio website, or a show reel video you can link that.

And last but not least. If you are unsure whether you are good enough for the project, send an application anyway! We accept animators of any skill level!

Khalsa Aid is fucking amazing. They're who you want to donate to, period.

This is one of the few cases where I advocate donating to organisations rather than individuals, because right now, in India, the breakdown of medical infrastructure is so bad that money won't help you. The effort is being carried out now by volunteers who are coordinating resources.

Khalsa Aid is a very old and proven and beloved organisation with absolutely no ties to the hindu government. In fact they have extensive ties to the still-ongoing farmer's protests. They are effective, established, trusted, and sound.

Here’s a thing that happened to one of my friends. I was there.

Basically, we were walking down the sidewalk, talking about something meaningless. I think it had to do with a movie. Then this bus screeches up, stops next to us, and a bunch of people with “Down with Cis” shirts climbed out and started beating him up. I was punched and kicked a bit too, but I managed to avoid brutalization by going for their faces. After figuring out what’s happening, I started attacking them back, getting them off of him. He was quite injured but I called 911 and he made a full recovery at the hospital. I was fine, with only a cut on my arm that they patched up.

  2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
  3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
  4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)
  5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?
  6. What character do you have the most fun writing?
  7. What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?
  8. Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?
  9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?
  10. How would you describe your writing process?
  11. What do you envy in other writers?
  12. Do you want your writing to be famous?
  13. Do you share your writing online? (Drop a link!) Do you have projects you’ve kept just for yourself?

  15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?
  16. Tried anything new with your writing lately? (style, POV, genre, fandom?)
  17. Do you think readers perceive your work - or you - differently to you? What do you think would surprise your readers about your writing or your motivations?
  18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.
  19. Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?)
  20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
  21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?)
  22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?
  23. What’s the story idea you’ve had in your head for the longest?
  24. Would you say your writing has changed over time?
