Reblog if you’re 30 or older

This is an experiment to see if there really are as few of us as people think. You can also use this to freak out your followers who think you’re 25 or something. Yay!

Soon to be 41. If that bothers you I won’t be offended if you unfollow.

{FLEETWOODSTOCK} Floof Manes & Feather Set

A set of FOUR Manes and THREE Featherings by Fleetwood Fox made for the amazing EQHD rig by Dimitri Dane and Elin Fredriksdotter for all your fluffy draft and cob needs!

To kick off this blog I gift y’all a big set of manes and featherings! I only recently started making cc so there may be some clipping and beginner cc maker goofiness but these all should function fine.

These are specifically made for EQHD and WILL NOT work properly on EA horses. (Sorry EA peoples)

EQHD Conformation Mod by ihtlco

“The EQHD horse mod is created as a full-body replacement of the vanilla EA Pets horse, to better capture realistic equine anatomy. The mod is a complete overhaul, with increased polycounts and optimized rigging to best improve on EA’s model.

In addition, we have created and are providing updates to several other horse assets, including a new version of Cmar’s original junk mod for male horses, more options for eye colors and textures, as well as an update to eyelashes to allow for more customization options.

Foals haven’t been left out, either! Though the changes are much less dramatic than those on the adult body (for now!), tweaks have been made to the foal mesh to correct some long-standing problems, such as their upside-down eye texture and mouth issues.”

Hello! I'm so sorry to bother you, but I followed your blog for a while and you know so much about modding I thought you could help me.. Recently I came to object creation for Sims 3 and I am curious if it's possible to add/ change effects (such as candle flame or water drops) for an object? I think I've checked everywhere I could think of but all the info I was able to find is either for S2 or S4. Perhaps you can guide me with this? Thank you so much in advance!

Heya!

Ohh, that’s a tough one! It really depends on what you want to do. Is it editing an existing Effect (So making, say, a candle flame blue?) on objects, or is it actually adding a whole new effect to an object? Because the latter would actually require some scripting unfortunately :/

I might make a tutorial for it in the future, regarding adding effects, since the process of it is quite technical and I really need to figure out again how to do it :p (Although it sounds like a thing the great @murfeelee has already done :p)

That is indeed a tough one–I myself don’t have much experience with it either, so PLEASE make a tutorial for us, Green! 🙏 This is what little I know:

Probably the easiest way to “add” effects to objects is to clone and object that already has effects. For instance, take the Paranormal Jar and Dragon Spring Rider I made for my Bday Bonanza: https://murfeelee.tumblr.com/post/649739698160402432/murfeels-2021-bday-bonanza-another-year Those had special effects because the objects I cloned them from (the Supernatural EP’s Mood Lamp and the Generations EP’s Spring Rider) have special effects when you turn them on.

The Mood Lamp is probably one of the best things to clone if you want a more or less “decorative“ object that can still do something cool and give your sim extra perks on top of it.

One of my favorites is cloning one of the FX Machines–the FX Pod from Showtime has far more options (like a dozen or more IIRC) than the Late Night one (which has like 6).

(I first got the idea to use FX Machines late into my Final Fantasy gameplay, which sucks, cuz I really need to redo all the Aeons as FX Machines instead of decor.)

Even these smaller versions of the LN/SHT ones at MTS can be used with MOO to hide inside bigger objects–the possibilities are endless with these things.

As for making lights with working candle flames, I’ve never managed to figure out how to clone the basegame tiki lights or WA EP torches. The flames never show up for me. :( So I use the next best thing:

The Fog Emitter is your friend!

I can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve used the Fog Emitter in my posts–when I do I usually try to tell y’all the codes I used, like in my Dragon Age posts, where they were absolutely everywhere.

For people like me who don’t know how to do cool Photoshop editing, I heavily rely on the Fog Emitter to add some extra pizzazz, particularly in fanciful gameplay.

The code list is here, which you’ll need in order to activate the BAJILLION effects: https://simsvip.com/2013/10/17/fog-emitter-codes-updated-future/

Its default effect is adding fog effects, but trust me, it can do infinitely more, as long as you know the codes and what each of them looks like (which some Youtube videos have demonstrated).

Like Green said, the real challenge is scripting, and knowing how to link new objects and effects together–which I have no clue how to do. Hats off to you all that do that stuff. I’m tagging in @mspoodle1!

So yeah, that’s just a few quick ways to add effects to objects. There are likely other objects that can be used too, but I haven’t eaten breakfast yet; my stomach’s yelling at me.

Adding effects is a give and take sort of. Depends on the effect and if it is tied to a particular object. If it is tied to an object, then it’s script/mod based. I will then look at that item after I clone it, in s3pe or TSRW and look for the bones/joint assignments in RIG and RSLT. This gives me an idea of how the object works and what the objects script is calling for which effect.

I find that I need this function to delete unwanted effects rather than add them. Just because I choose the object I want that already has the effect; ie…the store’s poker tables. With the poker tables I removed the eye and lights and left the other slots and bones intact.

@murfeelee as a side note, I’ve not gotten those flaming tiki lights or wall torches to work either. They are just cursed objects (aren’t all ts3 objects cursed in one way or another. lol) 🔥🔥🔥 I’m thinking that something gets corrupted on the cloned export or the effect is not recognized by s3pe or TSRW and it doesn’t get added to the cloned object. Just a theory though.

Meh, don’t know if I added anything of value but that’s how I usually approach things. 🤷‍♀️

Ok, so I’ve been putting this off hoping I’d be able to fix the issues I’ve been having but it turns out my computer is on it’s last legs.

I’m currently having to use my sisters PC to record and edit my YouTube videos because if I do anything that’s more strenuous than browsing the internet on my own it just shuts down.

I don’t have the money to buy a new PC right now because I’ve also been having to pay medical bills for my cat who is quite ill atm.

I hate asking but you guys have helped me out of a bad spot before so I figured I may as well give it a shot. If you guys want to donate to help me get a new computer thank would be amazing and would help me out of a super sticky situation since most of my life is based around my PC.

My Paypal link for anyone who would like to donate.

Love you all <3

I honestly didn’t realize how much simming was helping my mental health until I no longer had the option (and with everything going on in my life right now I really could do with an escape) so please if you can help out I would really appreciate it (even reblogging helps and I am forever grateful to you all)

Oh, I also forgot to say, I’m willing to do conversions/retextures or make sims (when I get my new PC) for anyone who can donate and help me out. I’d offer other stuff but I have very little skills haha

I found a decent-enough set-up for £600. I already have $100 of that so I’m only £500 away from being able to afford it.

Any help towards the goal is super appreciated and as stated above when I get the new PC I can do conversions or sim making for anyone who donates.

My parents have given me £100 towards my goal so I’m now £400 away!

£387 away from my goal!

£357 away from my goal!

£331 away from my goal!
