i don’t think people really get how little feedback fanfic authors actually get? like the effort to reaction ratio is so abysmally skewed here that a fic nearly 50,000 words long takes an entire year to amass like. 16 comments. someone reblogged a fic i wrote at 4 am and tagged it with a 5-word compliment and i can’t stop thinking about it, not because it was so nice but because half the time you post a fic you’re going to hear nothing and anything feels like so much
fandom culture is so, so good about giving artists the credit they’re due, but we gotta start doing that for writers too. you’ve got no idea how much people put into their stories and get maybe a handful of reblogs and a dozen-odd kudos. that’s not enough. writing is an endurance sport and y’all need to start giving fic writers a reason to endure it and improve their craft. encourage writers like you encourage artists. reblog fics, leave tags, leave comments, acknowledge that these stories do not just spring into being for your entertainment.
every single damn writer i know feels like at least their readers see them as a machine. that’s gotta change.
I hate asking for feedback and reviews, it feels like begging. I’m really lucky to have such a vocal and awesome following but I do see this a lot.
Jellal from fairy tail!! Old drawing of mine but i still like it :)
Aaaaannnnddd now he’s seeing red.
y’all are so quick to reblog fanart yet fanfics get less than like 5 notes people complain abt fanfics not being updated for years and its like well give them feedback??? comment on their fics??? encourage them to write more????
Rated MA
Summary: Some girls like diamonds. Some of them want fancy things. They hunger for the taste of glamour and we find some others' rings.

It’s time! Little gray babies are coming out of shed.
I want something good to read. Manga, that is. Like, violent but not too violent. Fantasy. Little bit of romance, but not toothache inducing, you know? Solid and original story line.
Suggestions? Favourites? Mentionables?
@indigopersei is the french language just always on the verge of getting someone accused of assault or..?
my friend, if only you knew
It’s a very dangerous language to learn
Here’s an interesting thing about French! Everything needs to have an article in front of it. That’s why it’s “la chat” as opposed to just “chat”. So, for instance, you could say la fille for the girl, or jeune fille for young girl, but you can’t just say fille, because that means you are calling her a sex worker in a derogatory way.
The moral of the story is, if you want to make something rude in French, just take out the article in front of it. Yes, this works for nearly. every. word.
the evil counterparts
This is sort of the greatest. I didn’t think Natsu would be one of my favourites but...
Over the last couple of weeks we’ve seen a flurry of activity in the Jerza corner of the Fairy Tail fandom.
Some bad.
Some sad.
But!
We’ve also seen a lot of quality Jerza content popping up! We want to encourage positive Jerza content! This post is meant to gage the level of interest in a 2017 Love Fest.
If you’re interested please reblog this post with feedback or suggestions. We just want to get an idea of participation interest before committing to a 2017 event. Let us know!
Thank you!
I’m always in.
I actually want to write Speed the Collapse but I’m so damn tired. Like, fall asleep at my computer sitting up with my hands on the keyboard tired.
I have a weakness for all these things. Red lips. Nails. Old phones. I might as well end my day here, it won’t get any better.
what is your favorite character to write about? and the most difficult one?
In Fairy Tail? Hm… My most favourite is a toss up between Mira, Laxus and Jellal. If I had to choose… ah. That’s tough. I think perhaps Jellal because I love writing about bad men and while Laxus was a bad guy for a bit, I one hundred and forty five percent believe that Jellal still has issues. There is nothing I love more than complicated, surly men.
The toughest character for me to write is Lucy. She’s chipper and wholesome and everything that doesn’t come to me naturally or easily. I’m not saying I’m dour, really, I just have two gears: chill and furious whereas she exists in this space between where she’s just so damn genuine…
Hope that answers your question(s)!
Writing about a child rapist did not make Vladimir Nabokov a child rapist.
Writing about an authoritarian theocracy did not make Margaret Atwood an authoritarian theocrat.
Writing about adultery did not make Leo Tolstoy an adulterer.
Writing about a ghost did not make Toni Morrison a ghost.
Writing about a murderer did not make Fyodor Dostoevsky a murderer.
Writing about a teenage addict did not make Isabel Allende a teenage addict.
Writing about dragons and ice zombies did not make George R.R. Martin either of those things.
Writing about rich heiresses, socially awkward bachelors, and cougar widows did not make Jane Austen any of those things.
Writing about people who can control earthquakes did not make N.K. Jemisin able to control earthquakes.
Writing about your favorite characters and/or ships in situations that you choose does not make you a bad person.
It’s a shame that in this day and age these things need to be said.
If only I could be an ice zombie.
But really. Writing about terrible things doesn’t make you a terrible person.
Rated M for sexual content.
