This is a muse hub blog for multiple rp accounts. I will use this blog to posts ooc things, announcements, D&D stuff, and well stuff I don't want to clutter all my Rp blogs with. This will also be the blog that will follow you if you follow one of my muses.

🚨 Hey Tumblr—We need your kelp! 🚨

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is here for you — and for the ocean — during the coronavirus crisis. But it’s hitting us hard in many ways and we need your help, right now, to come back strong. Please urge your congressional representatives to support emergency relief funding for us and other nonprofit aquariums, zoos and museums!

Under normal circumstances, visitor revenue makes much of what we do possible, including our exceptional day-to-day care of over 80,000 animals and plants, our rescue and rehabilitation of stranded sea otters, and our work to tackle the greatest threats to the health of our ocean planet. But our ability to continue this vital work is uncertain due to the unprecedented loss of revenue during our closure.

We look forward to the day we can welcome you back to the Aquarium in person, and continue building the world our children—and all of us—deserve. Until then, you can help us by asking your congressional representatives to support emergency funding for nonprofit aquariums, zoos and museums in the next relief bill. Thanks for your conseaderocean!

I’ve shared posts like this before, but I’m sharing it again. AZA zoos and aquariums are hurting right now, with a massive loss of revenue and animals that still require round the clock care, specialty food, veterinary care, and expensive life support systems.

Zoos are maintaining their high animal care standards even through this tragedy, often cutting the pay of higher ups so that money can be funneled into paying for animal care and animal care staff, but they can’t keep it up forever.

Please tell your representatives to include AZA zoos and aquariums in COVID-19 relief legislature. The link above will take you to a page where all you have to do is type in your information and it will auto generate letters to all your representatives.

I don’t have food stamps but I need to know how to eat well for $4/day. Thank you for this.

HOLY SHIT

This cookbook is really amazing. I’ve used a couple of the recipes and they are so easy to follow. And in the beginning there are a bunch of really great tips for saving on food stuff.

To my few followers:

These can be some very boring, frustrating and even depressing times while most of us sit in quarantine. I don't want to assume everyone knows what to do in these situations so here are some important suggestions to keep depression at bay:

1. Maintain daily hygiene and wear real clothes. I know it's tempting to lay around in your PJs all day but doing what you would normally do helps snap your brain into activity mode.

2. Keep active. Even though you're stuck at home that does not mean you get to sit at your computer 24/7. Get up, stretch, do a few jumping jacks... Whatever to get your heart rate up.

3. Get some sun and fresh air. Even if it's just for a moment. If you can go for a walk even better. Your body NEEDS sunlight and fresh air.

4. Don't be too afraid to buy one or two unnecessary feel-good drinks or snacks like chocolate. Budgets may be tight but when you need a seratonin boost go for a bite of chocolate. Your mental health is extremely important after all.

5. Take this time to practice skills or learn new ones. This is a good time to learn how to make butter, learn how to sew, make your first animation... Do things that make you feel accomplished.

6. Reach out verbally to someone. It is NOT enough to just text talk... Although even that is better than nothing. If possible you should voice chat with someone.. Video chat even better! More than anything if you're already feeling down reach out to someone, anyone.

The worse thing you can do is succumb to feelings of depression. Don't over-sleep. Don't eat a ton of junk food. Don't sit at your computer 12hrs straight. These will ultimately make you feel worse. Keep your head up, stay active, and keep living. :)

If any of y’all didn’t know, there’s a free online library, aka

and I found like, twelve ebooks I’ve been wanting to read on there, and blasted through like three of them during the course of a boring-ass shift.

Guy there are books on magic on there.

Wouldn’t this be bad for authors though? or is this like a normal library where they get /some/ money?

It’s like a normal library. Libraries can upload ebooks there and let people check them out through openlibrary if you have an openlibrary account, or it can point you to nearby libraries that have physical copies of the book for you to go and check out. If you check out books via openlibrary it counts towards the count of books checked out from the library that uploaded the ebook, and they can use it in their reporting and funding and stuff.

There’s like 150 libraries partnered with openlibrary so far.

They also have copies that you can check out if you are print-disabled.

You can also ‘sponsor a book’, which means you pay the cost of the ebook you want openlibrary to acquire, and then they can add it to their collection and let people check it out.

I sure did!

And click on a title even if it says ‘no ebook available’ and scroll down, ‘cause sometimes that just means “all of the copies of ebooks are checked out right now but you can get on the waitlist when it’s back in”

This is part of the Internet Archive! I’ve posted about this before. Please go, it’s amazing.

Yeah man if I give the 50 year old lady at my bus stop some spare change for fare and a meal she’ll lose interest in foraging for desiccated salmon carcasses and lose her natural fear of people. Next thing you know she’s in the suburbs, running around on all fours trying to eat a corgi

Today is a sad day. Bernie Sanders has suspended his campaign. Even though many, inlcuding me are pissed about it, and I think he should have waited until April 13th when the count is released, in another way perhaps it was the right thing because he could not stand seeing people sacrifice their health and lives to vote for him amidst the pandemic.

If you live in a state that has not voted in the primaries yet, know that Bernie is still on the ballot, he did not “drop out”, he suspended his campaign. Lately he has been focusing his efforts on the pandemic issue as well. I know there is a lot of crap out there about Joe Biden, but if you live in a swing or red state, please know that even someone like him is preferable to Trump.

A lot of effort has been put to silence Bernie Sanders, to the point that if he did win the primary, the Democratic Party establishment might do some sabotaging to make sure he never goes even near the White House.

As for the movement, keep fighting. Find more leaders to rally the movement for future elections.

So April Fools Day is coming up and in light of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) causing a pandemic, I’d just like to say to anyone who’s planning a prank this year:

DO NOT SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19

DO NOT GO OUT IN PUBLIC AND PRETEND TO HAVE COVID-19

DO NOT POST ABOUT FALSE “CURES” FOR COVID-19

DO NOT  DO ANY PRANKS INVOLVING COVID-19

Remember: Confuse, don’t abuse!

Legend has it that a Yokai named Amabie, a bird-headed, three-tailed siren with long hair, emerges from the sea in times of epidemics. If enough people display her portrait, she will return to the sea taking the plague with her. Reblog or post your Amabie!

enough primaries remain to get him nominated, please if you are in a state then campaign, if not contact people you know that are.

Bernie’s campaign suspended direct fundraising activities yesterday. Instead, they are asking supporters to donate to Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry, Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, One Fair Wage Emergency Fund, and the National Domestic Workers Alliance:

Meals on Wheels delivers prepared food to seniors all across the country. This is especially important in the pandemic, as seniors are at high risk, and limiting their need to go to the grocery store by delivering these meals is a critical service.
No Kid Hungry makes sure that children get the food they need, especially since schools are closed across the country. Their service is especially important as families who lose their jobs need to keep their kids fed.
Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund is providing direct financial support to restaurant workers who are out of work or have reduced hours because of the pandemic. They are also supporting community organizations of local workers and providing loans to restaurants to re-open when it is safe.
National Domestic Workers Alliance is giving financial support to in-home care workers, nannies, and house cleaners who have to stay home and not work in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
One Fair Wage Emergency Fund gives funds directly to service workers affected by the pandemic, including restaurant, salon, airport, rideshare, and gig economy workers who find themselves out of work or without customers.
These five groups cover a large section of the problems that we are immediately facing as the health crisis creates an economic crisis. While we need to do much, much more as a country, supporting these groups is a good first step to take if you’re able to do so right now.

Living in Missouri, I’m particularly frustrated by the singular and specific lack of leadership form state & local government (I know, I know. I vote, but I’m outnumbered here), and it is strikingly apparent to me that the only clear and decisive leadership we’re seeing on the national stage is here, from Bernie Sanders. Nothing is decided.
