I’m pretty sure that ravishment fantasies are literally one of the most common sexual fantasies — at least among women, who make up a majority of self insert readers in fandom. This isn’t new either, barbarian romance and bodice ripper romance are staples within the pulp romance genre and have been dating back to at least the Victorian era iirc.

Ok fine. I do have a rape fetish, OP. And I'm going to continue to write stories and imagine things about it, because. Well. That shit literally hurts no one. Because it isn't real.

Oh hey! Let's apply OP's words to ANOTHER SERIOUS HEINOUS CRIME that's only ok in fiction.

"stop making fanart of characters murdering and physically assaulting other characters, you are fucking disgusting people who romanticize a serious crime that happens every day to children and women"

Isn't that just super ffucking dumb? Like dumb to the point of hilarity. Yeah. The original post is also ffucking DUMB.

I'm not into rape fantasies as romantic*, much like OP. That said, people can write whatever the fuck they want. If it bothers you, don't read it. It's that simple.

*I'm totally down for writing it as nightmare fuel, though. I live for writing grimdark shit and psychological horror in general.

“Remember just because you hit bottom, doesn’t mean you have to stay there.“ - Robert Downey Jr.

Picture is from re:MARS festival in Las Vegas which had a place yesterday.

Friendly reminder that Robert Downey Jr (who, if you listen to his interviews, is sharp as a tack and has a vocabulary that makes me swoon) dropped out of high school, and ended up getting his GED in freaking PRISON. <3

I’ve always said ‘fall seven times, get up eight’ defined Tony Stark, but yeah, IRL, it totally defined RDJ too.

western feminists utterly abandoning iranian women, who have been protesting for their rights for a long ass time and who deal with some of the worst shit women anywhere will ever face, is so par for the course i don’t know why i’m even surprised anymore

western leftists being pro-iran despite the atrocities, mass executions, and the fact that the islamic regime is about as anti-feminist anti-leftist as a regime can get…

idk i just. every day i’m more and more disillusioned by western leftists and their ability to completely alienate the people who actually care about human rights and ending conflicts.

The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.

Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”

Fandom Problem #4832:

The fact that people will accuse creators of misogyny for creating fan-service for their audience, especially for mature/cheesecake-themed works. “Why is that creator sexualizing women?!” because you’re in a male-aimed/hentai fandom Brenda. The woman’s in a bikini for the “people who like bikinis” gang, not to secretly tell you to go back to the kitchen.

Brenda is going to lose her shit when she finds out not only do real life women often buy bikinis for themselves purely because they personally like it, but there are also women who find women in bikinis hot. My aunt met her wife because she was jogging by the beach, saw her future wife in a swimsuit and was so distracted by how gorgeous she was that she ran smack into a light pole. She conked her head hard, fell down, and then the next thing she knew the hottest woman she'd ever seen was yelling at some jackass guy for laughing at her, helping her to her feet and checking her for a concussion. (And hot is nice, but hot and assertive and kind? Lethal combo. In love on the spot.)

Also, when bikinis first came out historically, it was in the middle of a push in feminism for the concept that women have the right to wear whatever they want. That includes less clothing than you might like personally. A woman is not only respectable if she has 'enough' on. That was a huge part of why women jumped on bikinis as a trend in the first place - why did men get to go half-naked on the beach, but they had to wear full one-pieces or else they were 'shameful'? The ongoing message of feminism has always been that a woman is respectable in a bikini, a suit or a burqa, and it's not up to you to judge if she's dressing correctly. It's up to her.

If you see a woman in a bikini and you're offended, Branda, you're not tons different than a Southern Baptist Church saying any woman with short hair or who wears pants is a disgrace.
