“Shh,” A gentle hushing, his ministrations briefly halted to stroke her hair and murmur soothing things. Fionne had suffered a flu once, bundled up so small into thick sheets, a miserable little face all he could see. He’d stroked her hair too, and found time to lie with her and read to her from her favourite story books. Perhaps it was an instinct now, this need to soothe and nurture.
“Everyone is fine, I made sure of it. Don’t worry about anyone but yourself, little bird.” The affectionate term slipped out like an actor reading lines. He needed her to feel safe, loved, cared for. It was, in this moment, the most important thing to him. “It is all being cared for, you can rest. Sleep if you can, I’m almost done.”
The soft cloth returns to gently dabbing across her marred skin, watered down blood running over her back and staining the sheets below her. “Wynne says she can start closing these in a little while. Just hold on until then.”

There had always been something calming about Gareth, a quiet strength that seemed to grant her reassurance even in his surliest moods. Initially she had strayed close to him for the protective feeling he gave off, the elder man holding a sureity about him that Alistair lacked and the young, unworldly mage craved in this fallen world. Now he granted her a sense of safety, somehow soothing the panic that bubbles in her chest like a mirror of her pain and settles one to tend the other. She does not have the strength to deny his insistence of her self-care.

She cannot, however, sleep. The adrenaline runs low, and she feels the weight of every fiber, vein and bone in her body, but the pain remains and she is too nervous to find rest again.

“How... long have we been here?”

woOP SO APOLOGIES FOR NOT BEING AROUND THE PAST FEW DAYS. I’ve been over on Crystal trying to get her set up and established some over in her fandom. But having a secondary steady muse gave my mind a break from Nanna while not removing my writing drive, so I think it’ll be good for me.
ANYWAY. I’ll be here today and try to get things done between school stuff. hmu if you wanna talk or plot or something. Smooches u all~

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ A few interesting things about Elvhenan Elves that BW forgot/ignored after Origins

  • Arlathan was not the single homeland of the elves – it was only it’s most culturally and economically advanced Elvhenan city, and not even its oldest.
  • It’s heavily implied that Arlathan wasa destroyed by Solas’s creation of the Veil
  • Humans and Elves both lived (or at least greatly interacted) in Arlathan at the time of Solas creating the Veil
  • The Brecilian Ruins were temples built originally by humans, but was used as an Elven Sanctuary by the Ancient Elves for their elders’ Uthenera, as well as to honor their gods.
  • Both tombs and gravestones are present among the ruins, implying both humans and elves alike both used it for their dead/sleeping
  • The elves had magical inventions known as ‘Life Gems’ that transferred their life force and consciousness via their blood out of their body. It takes the help of another who knows the ritual to release them or destroy them.
  • The Dwarves killed many surviving elves who fled from Arlathan to the Cad’halash Thaig, as well as destroying the thaig itself, so that they didn’t jeopardize their trading relationship with Tevinter.

The pirates of New Providence Island are about to become more powerful than they have ever been before at a time when they would be less restrained than they have ever been before. And this tavern will still be the crossroads where their world connects to ours. Where their disputes are aired. Where their business is conducted. Where their passions are expressed. Is that truly something you want the responsibility of managing?

the rings ‘round his eyes are darker than usual, the rasp in his voice far more pronounced. ❝ i’m not sick. ❞ he hisses, ❝ would you fuck off? ❞

The Warden blinks, startled briefly at his sharpness, before her mouth forms a hard line at the aggressive Inquisitor. For sake of his health, she brushes aside his rather rude request. “And neither are you well. We should fetch you a potion at the least, other recommendations aside.”

“Sacred-? Howl, they were bath salts in the bathroom. I apologize for touching your things, this was entirely unintentional, but it appears far more likely that you simply enjoy not cleaning up after yourself.”
