so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god

…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment

the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.

it’s like the artful dodger (2023) was MADE for tumblr. thomas brodie-sangster and flowy bloody sleeves. delightfully gory victorian surgery. period romance that is way hotter than it should be. period costuming that is FOR ONCE not referred to as ‘stifling’ or ‘torture’ by the spunky lady lead (this one’s for the historical dress community). anti-authoritarian. crime shenaniganry. young upstart tempted to their old ways. banger guy-ritchie-sherlock-holmes -2009-esque soundtrack. lovely lighting direction. what more could you possibly want.

The thing about Belle is that she is this fascinating character who clearly is aware there's something very wrong with her physically and so her interest in medicine is probably to an extent self-serving but at the same time she's using that suffering and confusion to care so deeply about other people and she's faced with the fact that she's weakened and possibly dying and the world doesn't understand why and she responds by saying ok let's create a world where no one will ever be weakened and dying for unknown reasons ever again, this isn't right and it isn't fair not just for me but for everyone, like there's such a strong interesting core to her and all her motivations come from this place of compassion and strength and courage. But at the same time and I CANNOT stress this enough she is a little freak she is SUCH a little freak like that is JUST as important to her character once again I am reminding you her response to being offered the chance to do surgery was to kiss the guy who offered it she has zero social skills she wanders into her father's official meetings and makes sarcastic comments randomly. She's deranged I love her.

I know we talk a lot about him asking for consent before treating her in the alley, but let’s talk about him asking for consent silently before they slept together. 

actually going fully feral for jack & belle from the artful dodger like they are just so many delicious wonderful tropes packed into amazing characters with an incredible dynamic and i just LOVE IT. it's like they were made in a lab just to make my brain go burrr.

He's great with a sword. He hates Oliver Twist. He's a gambler. He's being entrapped by his father figure. He performs secret surgeries to save people and revolutionize medicine.

Am I too late for the party????????!!!!!!!!!! I just binge-watched 3 season the last air bender yesterday and how come this WAS NOT in my childhood????????

You must believe that the world is going to change. You must believe that you can change it. You must believe that one day women will dance in the streets at night unafraid. You must believe that one day land will belong to everyone and queer liberation will be achieved. You must believe it. training days

Gentefied talked about the importance of family but also how it’s difficult finding who you are without them.

They talked about immigrants and the role immigrants have in society and the hardships they go through.

They talk about how white people and gentrifiers and cultural appropriators take the culture of BIPOC and immigrants for money and strip away everything else.

They talk about the struggles of wlwoc and how sometimes there is no balance. The ignorance in the community from both sides because you can’t be one without the other so you are left with pain.

Watch the show. Season 1 and 2 on Netflix. Don’t skip anything. Best show on Netflix so far since sense8 in my opinion.
