Can everyone please shut the fuck up about the roles this man chooses?
I'm seeing the fandom carry on about it in many spaces - discord and IG included. Judging him for being in talks for a romcom ("This doesn't seem like an authentic choice for him") or a Marvel movie ("I'm so disappointed in this choice"). What gives you the right to judge his choices and accuse his management of pushing roles on him? He's busted his ass for decades and now he finally has his pick of roles. Do you realise how rare this is for actors? Do you realise this man who once went hungry and needed financial support from his friends to eat is probably fucking thrilled that he's secure and can do what he loves for the foreseeable future without worrying about how he's going to survive?
If you were a true fan of his you'd just be happy for him, instead of questioning whether he has the ability to make his own choices just because they don't match up with whatever you're projecting onto him.
Do the rest of the fandom a favour and google parasocial relationships and do some self reflection. Stop acting like he's not a grown ass man with his own mind. It's honestly disgusting possessive behaviour. Not every role has to appeal to you, but don't put shit on him for choosing something you're not personally into. The man is not a reflection of you and your wants and desires.
