— first kisses with inumaki
This was the first thought that popped in your head as the male in front of you lowered his collar, exposing the bottom half of his face, the part of him that you seldom got to see. Your eyes first darted down to the cursed seal etched on his skin, then it drifted to his lips—soft and rosy—a sharp juxtaposition to the dark markings encompassing them.
Yes, pretty certainly was the most befitting word to describe Inumaki.
You rarely ever see him with his mouth exposed, only during missions or meals but as you two sat under the refuge of a large tree, safe from the blistering heat of the sun, Inumaki had pulled down his collar as he leaned back beside you.
You hadn't realized you were staring till he tilted his head to the side and the words "Tuna tuna?" left the very lips were so fixated at. You jolted, straightening in your seat and averting your gaze.
"It's nothing, it's nothing," You said with a wave of a hand as if you were physically batting away his curiosity.
He pouted, eyes narrowing in suspicion as he rapidly took out his phone. In a few seconds, your own phone vibrated from the message he just sent.
"It's really nothing, don't worry about it,"
Inumaki's bottom lip jutted out even more as he leaned closer to you, his hands pressed together as he stared into your eyes. He was so persistent sometimes.
You sighed in defeat, rolling your eyes at the way he beamed in victory. You chewed the inside of your cheeks as you thought out how you were going to approach this without sounding downright odd.
"I was just wondering if you've had your first kiss." You say after a few seconds of hesitation, hands wringing together in nervousness.
His reaction was instantaneous, mouth parting a bit in shock and cheeks gaining a light shade of pink. His violet eyes were wide with mingled confusion and surprise.
"Because I was just curious! And—and—" You stammered, wondering if you should even continue your sentence, "I just thought that you had really pretty lips, it's a shame that you have to hide them all the time."
If you didn't think he was shocked earlier he certainly was now. With his cheeks darkening even more in color, the shade even reaching up to his ears and the dumbfounded expression on his face, you were worried that you had broken him.
His thumbs hovered over his keyboard; his own version of being left speechless.
"Bonito flakes," He muttered in a small voice.
How can you say these things so casually?
Had my first kiss, I mean.
You nodded your head as you read his message and looked through the onslaught of reaction pics he sent alongside them. "Oh, okay, I was just wondering,"
"Tuna mayo," He suddenly said, pointing at you. He didn't need to type it out, you knew what he was asking, what about you?
"I—uhm—haven't either." You answered truthfully with a small chuckle. "The opportunity has never come up."
Inumaki seemed to be shocked at this revelation but said nothing more on the matter, instead you two continued to sit in silence, both of you lost in your own thoughts. After a few minutes, you turned to Inumaki.
Was this a stupid idea? Perhaps but it was a risk you were willing to take.
"Hey, Toge, can I kiss you?"
Inumaki quickly whipped his head towards you, eyes wide and face even redder than ever.
"What—" Before he could finish his sentence, his hands flew to his mouth, slapping it shut. You two stared at each other for a few seconds in shock, blushing and speechless. He had spoken instinctively.
"Nevermind! Just forget I said anything, it was a stupid idea, I shouldn't have—"
"Tuna tuna," Inumaki cut off, eyes looking at anywhere but your own. With a bashful expression on his face, he nodded.
And with that you leaned in, all the mischievousness and confidence Inumaki was known for devoid from his now shy and red face.
You were only a breath away from him, his eyes trained down at your lips and yours at his, you could feel the warmth radiate from his face and you were sure that he could hear the rapid beating of your heart. You gulped, torrents of doubts and second-guesses rushing through your mind, "Are you sure you want—"
But before you could finish, Inumaki closed the gap, his lips pressing onto your own, hesitant but still with a fervor that you hadn't anticipated from him. You closed your eyes, relishing in the feeling of his lips on yours and his hand on your cheek.
The kiss lasted for merely a few seconds but somehow you two were still left breathless. Inumaki pulled away first, eyes half-lidded and cheeks still tinged with hues of pink.
"You—I—" You stammered, your fingers coming to your lips in shock. It was you who proposed kissing in the first place but you were the one who was more affected by it. Inumaki took in your flabbergasted expression and let out a small laugh, hand coming up to cover his smile.
Before you could open your mouth to chastise him for laughing, Maki's voice echoed from somewhere inside the building, calling out for Inumaki.
He suddenly turned back to you, pressed another quick kiss on your lips, and swiftly got to his feet, pulling his collar back up to hide his giddy expression and jogging away from you.
You stared wide-eyed at his retreating figure, your hand pressed against your lips, still warm from his kiss. After a few seconds, your phone pinged, revealing a new message.
If you want you can also take my third kiss
You let out a laugh, shaking your head at his ridiculousness as you typed out your response.
I'm looking forward to it then
