Mysme Halloweek - Recovering Appetite

[Prompt: Treat]

[Content warning: NSFW; slight mentions of blood because…vampire? Not gore though]

[Approx. word count:…6,70.0…+…I’m so sorry…orz]

[A/N: Somehow I always trip at the finish line and shit be late.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Assuming I can get over my bitter feelings about the length of this fic, I will try to break it up into smaller portions should I set this up with the others on ao3. ]

[P.S. The coconut water thing is elaborated on here. It’s neat stuff!]

.

.

.

Despite the bizarre accident that led to a complete upheaval in Yoosung’s lifestyle, he was finding his new routine to be a bit of an improvement over his old life.

If one could look past the obvious hindrance of being a vampire.

Mysme Halloweek - Truce Signed in Paw Print

[Prompt: Halloween Party]

[Approx. word count: 2.8K]

[A/N: This is going up unbeta’d, sorry! Terrible headache today. >_<]

Though Jumin Han often enjoyed the quiet space of time while being driven from one destination to another, he couldn’t seem to overcome the feeling of unease as he sat in the back seat with his beloved Elizabeth the 3rd—and her presence could generally soothe any uncomfortable situation.

You look at the calendar and wonder where October has gone? Half of the month had already breezed through. So many hours spent searching for clues about Scholomance magic. The dining room table was a mess; papers were scattered all over it. You had even gone so far as to stick up a map of the city and circle potential locations that Jumin could use.

While you were helping him research. You were able to see a variety of spells and rituals that he could use. While many of them were near useless for his cause. It gave you a general idea of what the conditions of the environment needed to be.

You pace in front of the map and glance down at your picture copy of his notes.

The more you thought about the summoning ritual and conditions. It became clear that it had most likely failed. While he had all the ingredients needed to perform it. The conditions were not in his favour.

“This spell has an 50% chance of working, should it fail I will perform it again on Halloween where it increases the chance to 90%.”

His words still ring in the air and you feel they almost cling to you like a sign or omen. Jumin had two chances to try to perform it again; without the conditions or wait until Halloween when it was almost guaranteed to work.

Your last trip there gave you a lot more than you realized at the time. That world and this one were parallel to one another so that meant two things were certain:

The weather conditions were the same Being in the same location as where the RFA meant an overlap in dimensions

Sitting back down on the dining seat. You pick up your phone and scroll through the photos you had taken of the RFA.

Yoosung’s excited smile over finding that pumpkin.

Zen’s sincere smile from relaxing at the tea party.

Jumin’s concentrated face as he pours over a book.

Jaehee’s confident and determined expression as she prepared the circle.

Mysme Halloweek - Labyrinthine Salvation

[Prompt: Horror Stories}

[Approx. word count: 740]

[A/N: This is forewarning that this fic mainly features Rika and lightly references the abuse she endured as a child. If that is enough to make you want to skip this entry, please feel free to do so as I am aware of how polarizing a character she is. Those of you who still choose to read, I am grateful.

Special thanks to @jaeheekangisimportant for her assistance in pinning down this story so I could write it properly.]

Rika never felt fear with horror stories; only sadness.

Mysme Halloweek - Winning Stratagems

[Prompt: Haunted]

[Approx. word count: 2.7k]

[A/N: Ok, I didn’t want to make so many multi-parters, but this story follows Chaos Stratagems which was for the prompt ‘Supernatural’ a few days ago and you do kinda need to read it to see what’s going on here. I wasn’t planning on it initially, but I realized this allowed me to play with a character that I haven’t seen many touch on.I know it’s a bit of a read, but I hope it’s at least interesting. Thanks in advance.]

An unsettling tension and disquiet currently held control of the Choi Household; neither occupant had slept well in weeks.

MysMeHalloWeek - Day 5

Fan fiction & cosplay for @mysmehalloweek

[Prompts: Horror Stories/Haunted

707 and Yoosung were spending Halloween together in Yoosung’s house. They had already answered the door to trick or treaters, and were left with a tonne of candy, since they’d gone a bit overboard when buying it. That, of course, had been deliberate.

They tried to watch some horror on Netflix, but it was all so bad. They had to switch the Death Note movie off before they gouged their own eyes out just to make it stop.

“I wish I had a Death Note so I could write my own name right now,” Yoosung whined.

“Same,” Seven agreed. “Let’s tell ghost stories instead, I’m sure we’ll be more entertaining.”

They grabbed some more candy and went to Yoosung’s room, where they lay on the floor covered in blankets.

“I know a shinigami story,” Seven started. Of course, he was making it up. “So, there was once this party planner who killed herself because she was an evil ho. She came back as a shinigami and started an evil cult. She turned all the members into shinigami, aka gods of death, and then…um. They killed everyone and that was the end of the world. ”

“Seven, seriously, ” Yoosung groaned. “Even I could come up with something better than that. So, there was once this other evil ho, a guy who lied to everyone about his fiance being dead. But his lie came back at him when she came back to life, or death, as a shinigami, and haunted him forever.”

“Oh yeah, that’s so much better,” Seven laughed. “Perhaps we’re not meant to be spooky.”

They decided to finish off the candy and go asleep. Yoosung was woken a few hours later by someone calling his name. He opened his eyes and saw his cousin Rika standing in front of him. But Rika was dead… And this Rika had black wings. She nodded at him, then disappeared. He tried to wake Seven but couldn’t. He fell back asleep while trying to convince himself that he’d imagined it.

Seven woke up just as Yoosung fell back asleep. He swore he saw V in the room, but as he was wondering how he got in there, he faded and disappeared.

Neither spoke of what they’d seen that night.

Meanwhile, Rika was looking down on Yoosung from the shinigami realm. She hadn’t missed the human world until now. V appeared and held her hand. He was the only person she’d killed so far, and that was only so he could join her.

“Perhaps I should have left you in the human world,” She murmured.

“No, I want to be wherever you are, Rika.”

[Part 2]

Rika continued to watch Yoosung from the shinigami realm. She wished she could still be there to guide him. Despite everything, she was still fond of him. She still cared about him and it hurt to see him grieving her death again. The first time he’d gone through it, not knowing she was still alive. But now she was truly dead, and V along with her.

There was nothing much to do in this realm, it was called Nothingness after all. Most of the shinigami passed the time playing cards and gambling. It didn’t take many deaths to add to their own lifespans, so they didn’t kill humans often. She didn’t plan to kill again until necessary, or maybe not even then. She’d really committed suicide in the end, and now she was stuck here.

She briefly considered bringing Yoosung up here, but she’d already been selfish enough. He deserved to live on and besides, he was the person who could actually do the good that she’d planned to do, before it all went horribly wrong.

V noticed her sadness and hugged her. He didn’t care that he’d died, as long as he was with Rika, he was happy. He often looked down on the other RFA members and tried to help them. Though it seemed they were doing better without him. When Rika went to sleep later that night, he decided to visit Jumin again.

Jumin hadn’t told anyone about V’s visits. Who would believe him? But he knew he wasn’t imagining it. He had always dabbled with magic and dark arts, so it wasn’t altogether surprising to him that he could remain in contact with his lifelong friend. He was drinking wine, with Elizabeth The 3rd asleep on his lap as usual, when V appeared again.

“Rika misses Yoosung. Is there any way you could pass on a message?”

“I don’t know, V. Those guys all make fun of me enough as it is. But more importantly, I’m afraid it would send Yoosung backwards in his grieving. He’s spending a lot of time with Saeyoung and Saeran, they are all helping each other heal.”

V nodded, “Very well. I wouldn’t want to risk that either. The dead are departed for a reason.”

“Yes. At least our friendship lives on,” Jumin smiled at the mint haired ghost.

“I am proud to call Jumin Han my friend, even after my death. I’m glad we are still able to meet. I shall go back now, goodnight.”

“Goodnight V.”

“Meow!”

Both men chuckled as Elizabeth the 3rd woke up just in time to say goodbye to V. She too, could see, or at least sense his presence, which gave comfort to Jumin that he wasn’t alone.

Supernatural

Summary: You weren’t crazy, they were real and you had to find a way back to them. A museum trip forces a run in with the RFA once more.

Prompt: Supernatural
Characters: Jumin Han, Jaehee Kang, Brief: Zen, Mentions: Yoosung
 Series: In-Between  Part 3
FF.NET I AO3  ( For those who prefer reading it elsewhere)
 Word Count: 6.5k

Note: Sorry my late third-day entry for @mysmehalloweek . This can be read as a stand-alone but it does continue from where Sweets left off! I also may have died writing this because it took a million years.

Thank you to my editor @inkandiron , you are the Halloween MVP. Thank you for encouraging me to finish this and editing it.  _________________________________

It’s colder today than usual, so you bundle up on the couch and try to enjoy this peculiar Halloween Baking show on Netflix. Glancing out the distant window, the skies are cloudy and grey. It looks about ready to storm and you wonder if the trip the to the museum would be cancelled.

Picking up your phone, you send a message to your friend asking if she still wanted to go out today despite the bad weather. She doesn’t respond immediately but you don’t blame her since it’s only 9 am.

You haven’t been able to sleep properly to since the farm and now, here you are, awake. At the beginning you thought it was all just a dream when you met Yoosung but the chance encounter with Zen proved that it was real.

Zen.

You bury your face in your hands when you remember him flirting with you and asking you out. But it’s the memory of him leaning closely to you and cupping your cheek that you feel the room is moving around.

Still, it irks you how easily you step in and out of this space and onto another. You spent the following days visiting farms and parks but still nothing.  Flipping through your apps, you try the Mystic Messenger game again and it still remained broken. Did this have something to do with the strange dimensional overlap that you were experiencing?

Hour after hour have been spent on Reddit looking for answers or experiences but so far nothing.

You sink into the couch, your shoulder are tense from all the hours spent hunched over the laptop looking clues and leads.

The phone beeps.

Yeah, be there by noon. Just getting ready now.

You had time to relax, so you close for your eyes feel heavy and you feel sleep for you.

You find yourself back at the tea party, the table is filled with desserts and teapots but there is no one else there. Taking a seat, you help yourself to food and drinks again. This was after a all a dream, there was no real danger this time around.

It is the sound of leaves crunching and the heavy footsteps that make you pause and turn around. In the close distance you see a flash of white running towards you, could that be Zen?

MysMeHalloWeek - Day 4

Fan fiction for @mysmehalloweek

The Phantom of Mint Eye

Saeran had brought the young woman to Mint Eye, but was forbidden from contacting her. On the few occasions he was allowed see her, the Saviour made him wear a mask. She wore one too, just a different shape and colour. Saeran’s was white and covered half his face. Saviour’s was black and covered the area around her eyes.

Saeran would sit in the dark room at Magenta and listen through wires as MC chatted with the RFA members. Of course, she didn’t know they were real, she thought she was simply testing a game.

Saeran had never felt attraction before he met MC. He’d felt plenty else, mostly fear and anger. Fear as a child, and anger as an adult because of his childhood and abandonment by his brother. At first he didn’t know how he felt when MC chatted with Saeyoung. He’d come to recognise it as jealousy and heartache. Saeran had picked the girl, surely he deserved her? Even thinking such thoughts gave him flashbacks of his mother screaming that he deserved nothing.

And so, he remained silent.

But he fell deeper for the girl, with each passing day, with each passing hour. He knew she’d only be there for eleven days, and then he’d be alone again. Though he was just as alone with only watching her through a screen.

He secretly worked out a way to connect the wires so that he could speak to her. It was connected through her dressing table mirror. He put it in place while she was out of the room to meet the Saviour.

She was surprised when he first called out her name, but she soon got used to it. He was thrilled that she even remembered him. No one else had cameras on the room, so he was able to talk to her as often as he wished. So long as he never told the Saviour.

He was devastated to find out that MC had feelings for Saeyoung. He had to convince her that his twin brother wasn’t real, otherwise he’d go mad! MC was HIS!

But then he collapsed into sobs, knowing he was too ugly for anyone. He was meant to be alone, which was the worst punishment for a twin. His anger boiled up and he shouted through the mirror, frightening MC.

“Don’t love 707! He will abandon you! I know, he did it to me.”

He started crying again as MC silently walked over to sit in front of the mirror.

“He can’t abandon me. He’s not real. That’s why I like him.”

She smiled and his heart broke yet again.

“I see. So you’d rather love someone who’s not real, than ever love me!” He yelled.

She looked away.

“It’s not that. I just don’t want to get hurt. You say he’ll abandon me, but that’s what real people do.”

“Not me! I won’t! I promise. MC… Let me come visit you. Please.”

She nodded and he left his room and ran to hers. He no longer cared about obeying the Saviour. She had tried to keep him and MC apart.

MC opened the door and he fell straight into her arms.

“You’re my real Saviour. You saved me with love. You’re all I need.”

Mysme Halloweek - Lucky Misstep

[Free Prompt: Modern Vampire AU]

[Approx. word count: 1.9K]

This had been going on for three solid weeks now; half a year before this. Yoosung knew he wasn’t cut out for the life of a vampire, but…well, there was no helping it; had he known he was going to be bitten for trying to help a staggering drunk friend out of a bar, he’d have just called him a cab.
