ANNOUNCEMENT:

Recently, I’ve been having lots of good ideas but I can’t see myself writing them, not into fanfics at least. I still don’t know if I want them to turn into short or long stories, poetry or novels, but what I do know is that I’ll get to them one day even if I’m not sure about posting them.

I love fanfiction, but I don’t think writing it brings me joy anymore, not as much as it did a couple of months ago. It has become a kind of weight on my shoulders and instead of helping me with my mental health, like it did for some time, it no longer has that “effect” on me. My anxiety over likes, comments and general validation worsened and I want to stop before it ruins writing and the liberation I feel whenever I do it. I’ve seen posts of other writers talking about how this feels like a job and I think I’m getting there. That’s exactly what I want to stop. I know I have to work on these issues and I hope to do it soon.

Even though I haven’t had this blog for long, I’ve met incredible people, writers and not, that showed me a whole new place to express myself. Tumblr is not new to me (I joined with a different blog when I was 13 or 14), but this side of making friends on the internet and bonding over shared interests, is completely new and something I don’t regret.

I’m sorry for everyone waiting on the Greek Mythology series, I was so excited to write it. Maybe I’ll do it one day but not in the form of fanfiction.

I will continue to use this blog, so you’ll still see me around making shitposts or reblogging or whatever I do. I also don’t want to lose contact with the people I met here. I don’t know if I want to delete my fics, but for now I’ll leave them on my blog.

I made a new blog, not a sideblog because you can’t do anything there, to post the new stuff I write if I ever decide to. You can follow me there: @thewords-of-muses.
