Lily gave Severus a kind smile, she didn't want him to leave of course she didn't. She lunged herself forward before he could leave, wrapping her arms around his neck hugging him tightly to her. "Stay safe" She whispered, feeling tears well up in her emerald green eyes.

Lily took a couple of steps forward to him now standing merely a few feet away from him. Her eyes fixated on his features, there was a fear in her eyes “Sev.. I know.. I know what you are and me being here I know is a risk with the prophecy.. I know Voldemort knows but he is my son Sev… My only son, please.. I can’t let him die” She explained there was plead in her voice. Lily looked down to her twiddling thumbs that seemed to shake ever so slightly. “If… If he comes to kill Harry, I will be standing in the way. If it means I die to protect my son then fine but I don’t want it to come to that” Lily knew that it would most likely happen but she had to ask.
As if seeing her hadn’t been PAINFULL enough, her words were an even bigger stab to the heart. Severus had doomed them- he knew the moment the Dark Lord had drawn the conclusion that the Potters were the family mentioned by the prophecy. Ever since then the dark wizard had been paining his mind for a way to ensure Lilly would s u r v i v e. He’d even made a special request to his master, in the full knowledge how that could have ended. But her stubborness would get her KILLED nonetheless if he couldn’t avoid the attack entirely.
However, her words also angered him. She had no right to come up to him, pleading for her son’s life and using that ridiculous little nickname she’d kept up all through their school years. After all- she had decided him unworthy of her time long ago. She had abandoned him for those Gryffindor low-lives. And here she was pleading for his help. And despite all he couldn’t refuse her- he’d give his own l i f e to protect her. Despite all.
“I’m taking care of it.” Severus replied matter-of-factly, his arms crossed over his chest defensivly as he marched off into a dark alley to avoid being seen together so publicly. If his plan were to have any chance at success, he’d have to thread very carefully from now on.
Lily looked to Severus with wide eyes. She knew that he would be taking care of it of course he would. "I know.. I know" she responded gently. Emerald eyes found his small rather piercing gaze, she took a step forward "Severus" she used his full name now, tone serious "when I die.. when Harry goes to Hogwarts, promise me you will look out for him. I know he will have Dumbledore and whilst Dumbledore is around Voldemort won't touch him.. but when the headmaster dies, which will happen at some point, he will need someone to protect him. Promise me you'll do that? Even if he hates you for whatever reason, please"

Lily looked towards Severus with a confused expression, she pursed her lips together “I can’t work out if you mean that in a good way or a bad way” She responded allowing a small smile to appear on her features.
“I mean it in the best way possible, of course.” Severus gave a sultry grin, his eyes twinkling with a strange, mischievous light. The tips of his fangs, which were only slightly longer than his teeth, were visible behind his lips. “I wouldn’t mind having such an alluring woman as yourself in my life forever. Especially since you know me better than anyone.”
Lily looked to him "Can I have time to think?" she asked forever was an awfully long time after all. "I.. just..need time forever is long after all"

"Erh no I don't think so" She replied honestly setting beside Severus again placing Harry down upon floor. She looked back to her friend giving a sad smile "Thank you for what you said Sev.. it means a lot" Lily knew that in time she would have to let go of James and learn to move on eventually though she found she missed him too much to do that right now.
