Mark looked up from the rubble he was helping move away and clean up and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as to why James Potter was talking to him in the first place, not that he had anything against the man, it was just well known that Potter and Snape never got along.
“Can it wait?”, He asked gently.
“It can’t, I’m afraid.” He answered gravely.
“Your father... Severus... died this afternoon. I was sent to tell you.” James stood unnaturally still, hating every moment of the miserable news he’d had to deliver. His thoughts wandered to his own son, his heart hurting. “I’m so sorry.”
Celaena just stared him for a while before speaking. “No offense, but you have invented a new kind of stupid.”.
“It was fun.” James shrugged with a smile. “And it kept us warm out by the lake, anyway.”
[Text 📲: Prongs] no, that’s me telling you there are exceptions to every rule…
[Text 📲: Prongs] oh really? Who? 😛
[Text; Pads]; oh good. just for a second i was afraid someone had brewed a polyjuice potion and taken your hair.
[Text; Pads]; sounded like moons from where i was standing, but could’ve been wormtail. you never know.
She had been working on the prefects schedules for the following month. Her quill twirling between index finger and thumb as she thought. Her foot occasionally tapping. Lily looked up at the sound of the other voice, breaking the silence and an offended look crossed her features as the words sunk in.
“Excuse me?” she asked incredulously. “Maybe you’re the one with the problem because I’m not doing anything.”
He held his hands up defensively as she rounded on him with that look, really not attempting to be offensive, even if he’d sounded that way. “Evans, you’re a distracting person when you’re concentrating.” It was funny - James would be the first person to admit that he couldn’t sit still at all when he was supposed to be concentrating, but apparently someone else’s jitters were too much for him to handle.
“Am I supposed to be doing something to help here?”
Sirius didn’t seem to be put at ease by what his friend said but he shrugged his shoulders anyway. “I guess…”
“Mate... We’ll get through this, alright? All of us. We’re going to be fine.” It didn’t sound convincing, even to James. “Chin up, kid. We’ve got a job to do.”
“Are you saying that because you want me to come up there and keep your neck warm?”
“It is a cold night, and you’re sleeping on my couch. You could return the favour, if you wanted to.”
❝ you saw the messed up parts of me, & stayed. ❞
@bittenchildremus -
“Trust me - when you’ve met Sirius’ mother, nothing’s scary after that. ‘Sides, mates stick together, yeah?”
Remus couldn’t help but to laugh about Sirius’ mother. “Of course, we will always stay together – no matter what happens James, I will always have your back.”
James grinned, proud of himself for making Remus laugh. “You know I’ll always have your back too, Moons. Right up until the day I die.”
@effervescentxlily -
“D’you think you could just stop being you for a moment, so I can think?”
@witxhling -
“--- Basically, we got really drunk and spent the night setting things on fire, just to watch them burn.”
@bloody-hell-xo -
“I have something to tell you, but it’s not going to be easy to hear. You might want to sit down, son.”
@mixandmatchmuses -
“Y’know, you're a good friend, Thackery Binx. Even as a cat.”
@stolideux -
“There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a Quidditch game that gets bloody, alright? It’s just added entertainment as long as nobody dies.”
