Spread my ashes I said.

Lestat simply stared at him for a few moments, the fear that had welled up in him beginning to fade. The blonde found himself feeling sorry for Magnus. Sorry for the creature that had made him into a Vampire. He shouldn’t feel sorry for the turmoil his maker was going through at this moment, and yet he did. ” I did exactly as you instructed. Anything that happened to your ashes following that was beyond my control.”

He paused, raising a brow before letting out a small laugh at his Maker’s tantrum. “That horseless carriage is called a car, or automobile. And yes, I agree, it’s very loud, and if you are indeed here to stay for a time, you will get used it and learn to tune the brunt of it out.” Lestat scowled at his next words. “I should thank you for making me into a Vampire, Magnus, for I have indeed thrived. And I may be your fledgling, but you left me alone to fend for myself and learn almost everything about this life on my own. Your little crash course on being a Vampire got the ball rolling, of course, but you left me with so many questions…” What had been his purpose in that, anyway?

"Now, what is it you want? Do you want me to help you? Or have you simply come to chastise me on how it could be my fault you’re still here?"

Magnus fiddled with his sleeve remaining quiet as Lestat scolded him. Yes he had been horrible and yes he was a bad maker. Leaving his fledgling in a fit of mental despair and turmoil was something that at the time seemed like a brilliant idea.

However it did not feel like a brilliant idea when he woke up in a clearing. His flesh red and black charred beyond belief. He remembered the pain. The god awful pain that had coursed through him. Someone had brought him back and left a cloak to cover him. The fibers of the cloth had become attached to skin and he had to rip it from his being causing even more pain. He thought briefly about sending the images of what he could remember to Lestat but simply shook his head.

"Listen to you. Mr. High and mighty I have thrived! Did it cross your mind that your maker came to you for that specific reason? For him to stand before you and ask forgiveness for leaving you and burning before you. No of course not this is you we are speaking of. Lestat the great! My apologies for being an ancient trapped in this chaotic world around me and wishing for guidance from the one I made. The one I gave this life to. It was a foolish thought."

He turned on his heel and scoffed. "Some fledgling you are."

Lestat just looked at him for quite some time before laughing. “I suppose you are right. Had I remained human, I would have died of a venereal disease. Like Syphilis. ” He then sighed, shaking his head as he leaned against a nearby wall. “My reputation is tarnish, Magnus. But I’m not as bad as my reputation states, you know. I have not scurried about like some animal in heat for years, but whether or not you choose to believe that is up to you.” In fact, he’d been silent for years, since the release of his last book, a publication which he himself questioned. During that time he had had a bit of a wake up call. “I’m done scurrying…behaving the same as I have for centuries; It’s become dull.”

Magnus cackled at Lestats' words "So you would not have stayed with poor Nicolas either way?" He made a soft tutting noise. Nicolas seemed like such a nice young man...Well from what he could tell when he stole Lestat away. He shrugged and leaned against the wall as well feeling quite tired suddenly. "It is none of my business what you have or have not done. Nor is it any of my business what you plan to do in the future. I have no right to even have let you known I'm alive yet alone begin to muddle in the affairs of a fledgling I gave up." He scratched at his neck a little, his collar revealing his more visible scar tissue.

Lestat went  rigid, flinching at the harsh touch.  That tone of voice was so like a parent scolding his child. But that’s what this was, wasn’t it? His Maker. His estranged Father. The idea made him  feel like laughing, but he dare not do such a thing.  How could it be that he was here? Right here! Touching him. Holding him. Memories unbidden flooded his mind of the night he was turned and he shuddered. When Magnus caressed him Lestat almost wished his Maker would be rough again. Gentleness from this creature did not feel like gentleness. There something wrong about it.

"Answer?" He ventured when he felt his lips could handle the task. "You need an answer?”  What about Lestat? Where was Magnus when Lestat needed answers? Burnt to cinders on his own volition.

Magnus frowned. Yes he supposed he did deserve the tone the other was having, though he had 300 years on the perpetual child in the form of a man. The dreamer of ridiculous dreams. His only...child if you will. He deserved it for not being there to guide him on this journey of pain filled murderous survival. Blood. Their lives were surrounded by blood and he was oh so tired of the killing.

"Yes I believe that is what I said." His voice had become worn and tired...an undertone of pain to it. "Yes, and you need an apology." He smiled sadly.

Risen again

Blood. Heartbeats of those who passed and all the way down the street. His light burn marks barely visible unless you actually focused were still highly sensitive, and he preferred not to be touched. Someone bumped into him and he growled turning to look at them. A woman. He mustered a small smile, his mouth closed, until he opened it to speak. "I did not see you. I apologize." He rubbed his arm a slight grimace on his features.

The luminous green specks within the skeletal spirits dark hollow eye sockets glowed brightly as she approached the aged vampire. A metallic animalistic snarl echoed through the towering buildings of the city. "Elderly immortal" she hissed, her words followed by a heavy breath.

There were few things Magnus got frightened over. The new things around him. And then that sound. That awful blood chilling sound. He cringed at her words and soft laughter escaped his lips. "Elderly? Please you're making it sound as if I belong in a home."

"None taken." he said, mirroring his movements with a shrug. "So following me? Are you another one keeping tabs on those Lestat chooses to keep as company?" he asked him curiously, for he had already been approached by Akasha previously.

"Good." He laughed. "What my fledgling does is none of my concern. I taught him nothing so I should not expect to be in his life." He wondered if the other could see the faint scarring on his face neck and hands, those being the only visible parts though it did in fact cover his entire body.

Magnus is an old man he doesn't expect to be shipped. Plus he doesn't find himself very attractive.

Her gaze followed him as he moved toward her. “Lestat de Lioncout et Louis de Point du Lac…” Her hands rose to her face as he mentioned her eyes before they quickly fell to her sides. “I get by…because I appear young but I am not…though it’s hard…and you..” She shifted curiously not even knowing what to say. Her mouth hung open for a few moments as if she meant to say something but she didn’t know what.

"My fledgling is the cause of this?" He asked shock written clearly across his face. Why did Lestat think... A child...It never worked. He sat on the ground and stared at her for a few moments. "When? When did he do this? Why..." He frowned. Perhaps Lestat needed to be taught a lesson or two after all. Perhaps he should have stayed, and guided his fledgling through the very thing that had torn him apart at the seems. This life was not for everyone, and Magnus, being just now fully healed from his fire death and brought back to life burned seemingly beyond repair...What year had that been? "Do I frighten you child?"

The normally polite brit simply smiled at that and shook his head, “Much like being a father, you cannot really call yourself a being of importance if all you have done for your child was create him and then leave him.”  He shook his head a little, “All though I will thank you for making your fledgling since he is now my maker.”  He lifted one brow, enjoying the excitement of meeting another ancient, “Greetings to you Magnus.  I am David.  David Talbot.”

"Hmmm. I suppose you are right in my not really being of import. Forgive me for being tired and not sound of mind and just wanting it to end. That hideous noise all the nights prowling hunting for a metallic taste to be left in the mouth. And here I am whole and once again thrust into the never ending cycle of hearing every living human in an eight block radius. Further if I have not fed and I have not unless you wish to count the group of teens who broke into the mausoleum where I had been resting in since I awoke badly burned in a field...." He trailed off his eyes growing wide. "I've said too much." He ignored the others introduction though he had caught his name.

"Ah, with a name like that….you must be old." he said with a small chuckle, his arms crossing at his chest. "No offence or anything….I’m Sven."

And now his eye was twitching. "Yes I'm old, same as you are a young brat." He smirked. "Sven." A wide smile. "No offence or anything." He repeated with a shrug.

Lestat merely shrugged, not even bothering to deny such an accusation. “I’m a French Vampire. What do you expect? I cannot deny that I do not follow any sort of ‘monogamous’ lifestyle. Is that wrong? Should I have been made aware that we’re not supposed to be polyamorous?” He wondered who could have told him that, were it true.

"Your ethnicity and creature classification. Yes  because that is such a valid excuse young one. I expect that were you human you would have acquired some fancy titled new age disease. I have no qualms with how you chose to live your life but the manner in which you scurry from one to the next like some overzealous hamster at the peak of mating speaks greatly about your character. Live you life however you wish. Tarnish your reputation if you want." A grin.
