summary: in which Jeon Jungkook can’t help but feel like your supposedly finished relationship isn’t anywhere near over yet.

-=+=-

The rain ceased almost theatrically, stopping completely after raining cats and dogs seconds ago. The atmosphere around jungkook was now filled with damp air, but he didn’t seem to mind.

He sat silently under the not so comfortable shelter of the bus stop, completely unbothered as the suffocating thoughts in his head started forming.

And somehow, they all went to you.

It was like he could almost hear your shallow voice rush past him, making him miss you more than he should. Because in all honesty, he would give anything to hear your voice call his name at least one more time.

Jungkook knew he shouldn’t have reacted like this towards something he knew wasn’t going to last, but even if it was wrong, at this point he was used to feeling this way.

He sat on the wooden bench under the small light of the bus stop, shoving his hands into his beige coat. Without moments of peace and comfort like this, he would probably break completely.

What if, you showed up? Here and now. Jungkook could almost put the happy imaginary scenario to vision.

He’d run towards you, not caring if the ground was wet from the heavy rain. He’d smile and ask “How are you doing?” before engulfing you into a hug seconds before you could even reply.

Then, he would remind himself it was all in his head. That he was still back at the bus stop, huddled under the small light. But if jeon jungkook could create a perfect world,

He would still be with you.

He had no idea that your simple but happy relationship coming to a tragic end would destroy him this much.

I guess the simple emotions were everything to me.

Yes, he despised you. Even more than he did anyone else. But in his head, you would cry and laugh together. In his head, in his perfect little world and his in safe space,

he was still with you.
