it shouldn't be revolutionary and refreshing that atla portrayed the fire nation as being just people living their lives and it's the decisions of a small minority at the top of the government that are fucking things up for everyone, but i genuinely love how well they humanised the fire nation as a whole

i genuinely think people need to chill when it comes to media. this avatar adaptation is GOOD for what it is. an adaptation. a canon au. a fanwork. so many people worked so hard to bring this to us. it's DECENT.

It's never going to be as good as the original but like. it doesn't have to be? the original was a masterpiece of storytelling. it's okay for this show to just be okay. like. we can still enjoy it.

I watched the original when it was on TV back in the day. this is fun. let it be fun. you can always go back and watch the cartoon when you want.

Thinking about Zuko being the loving and safe uncle to Aang's kids makes me so emotional? Zuko - great grandson to Sozin, who massacred the Air Nomads - babysitting the first known airbending children since the genocide..... it really speaks to just how much Aang loves and trusts him
