Stains - Part One

Synopsis: Loki soulmate AU. AU where upon first physical contact with your soulmate, a mark is left in a colour. Loki is surprised, of all the places to meet his soulmate, Earth.
Warnings: Thor Ragnorok spoilers.
A/N: So, Asgard is destroyed and Thor and Loki are staying at the Avengers HQ.
The post credit scene, Thanos, Infinity stones don’t really play a part but everything prior to Thor 3 did.
Part 2 will be longer.

Loki stood next to his brother, in his black suit, on the streets of New York. “I still don’t know what we’re doing here.” He complained to which Thor always replied “we’re living, learning with the mortals. Learn to have fun brother.” Loki sighed and put his hands in his pockets and stared straight ahead, but not taking in any of the surroundings. Tuning it out and hoping his time on Earth would end soon. But without an Asgard it was-
“Sorry.” Loki was distracted from his thoughts as a woman knocked into his arm and looked around frazzled and embarrassed. She was brushing his arm, pulling her hands away and back again, biting her lip, cheeks flushed. “I’m sure it won’t stain. I am sorry. This is so something I would do, huh? On my first day as an intern, I don’t even spill my coffee at work, I spill it on some stranger. I am so sorry.”
“You are forgiven.” Loki chuckled at the mortal girl, constantly apologising for spilling a beverage. He found it amusing. And there was something about this girl that made an unfamiliar feeling in his stomach. “I’ll pay for another.” Loki offered.
“No. It’s fine. It’s my mistake. I’ll -I’ll just leave. I’m late already. I don’t want to make you late as well.”
“But-” but she was gone, hurriedly jogging back down the direction she came.
Loki felt a pang of sadness as she left, and he didn’t understand it. How could one mortal impact him so dramatically.
“Well, I guess you get what you wanted brother. Let’s head to the headquarters, leave the city and get you a clean shirt.” Thor laughed and slapped Loki on the back, which made Loki stumble forward slightly. Loki glared at his brother’s careless strength before following close behind him.

“It’s just clothes brother! Stop being so moody.”
Loki raised an eyebrow, “moody?”
“Yeah, you know down, depressed, angry.”
“I am not moody.”
“Their just clothes.”
“I am not upset by the ruining of my overcoat.” Loki said just as he noticed there was a small stain on his shirt as well on his arm. Sighing, he stood and unbuttoned his shirt and walked it to the laundry of the Avengers Headquarters. When he returned to living room with a t-shirt he discovered the rest of the so-called Avengers interrogating Thor and didn’t see him enter, so he strolled past and went to the kitchen.
“-back here-”
“-he tried to destroy the world-”
“-he killed people-”
Loki laughed at their bickering. “Please, if I wanted you destroyed I would’ve done it by now.” He drew their attention as he pulled something out of the fridge that looked vaguely familiar to an Asgardian drink, though after his first sip he learnt it was not and he scrunched up his face in disgust.
“After we beat your ass.” The archer howled with laughter.
Loki rolled his eyes. “Foolish mortals-”
“Brother?” Thor interrupted.
“What is it, ‘brother’?” Loki mocked his brother’s tone.
“Was that mark always there?” Thor pointed to Loki’s side.
The Avengers all shared a knowing look, some grinning at each other, some had jaws hanging low, and Thor smiled smugly.
Looking down, Loki felt his heart skip a beat. There, on his upper arm, delicate pink finger marks swiping down to his elbow. He was in shock, disbelief. He had met his soulmate, and she had gone as quickly as she came.
