April 2022

Nat balanced the phone between her shoulder and ear as she put a dish in the oven, shutting the door as she turned on the timer. “So have you given work an answer about the promotion yet?” Her father asked, his voice a calming wave over her as she cooked dinner.

“Not yet but I have to by Monday,” she replied, biting her lower lip as she watched the timer count down on the small screen. She had a lot going on, a running to-do list in her mind – and on her phone, her computer, and the back of her hand – but at the top of it right now, was the man on his way from the private airfield nearby. “I was going to talk to Chris about it last weekend when I went to his sister’s wedding but obviously that didn’t happen. I tried to talk to him a few times this week but he didn’t have time but he’s in town this weekend for his friend’s bachelor party, and he’s coming over soon so I’ll talk to him then.”

Eric made a small sound at those words, assuring her, “I’m sure he’ll be so excited for you.”

The soft beep of Chris’ security system echoed through the otherwise quiet home just as he was pulling plates out of a cabinet. With a glance backwards over his shoulder, he watched as Lisa came into the kitchen, her face tired as her hands held a take-out bag from her favorite restaurant in town.

“You look beat,” he chuckled as he took the food from her, but knew he felt the exact same way as she looked.

“That’s what all mothers of the brides look like the day after a wedding,” Lisa shook her head as she sat down heavily on a barstool, taking a sip of water from the glass he’d sat out for her. Chris busied himself with putting their food on plates, sliding Lisa hers as he walked around the island to sit down next to her, putting his plate down in front of him. “Did you have a good time last night? I was a little worried about you.”

Unfamiliar terrain filled Nat’s eyesight as she stared out the window of the car, taking the sights of Atlanta. It had been a long flight out here after yet another grueling work week but this one seemed a lot more bearable than the last few, knowing that the light at the end of this week was seeing in person that shining smile of the man she loved.

Nat ran a hand through her wild curls before stretching out her legs that were still a little cramped from the long plane ride before she looked over at the man in the driver's seat and smiled, “Thanks so much for picking me up, Josh.”

“Happy to do it,” he honestly told her, glancing over at her for a moment before he chuckled, “Besides, having you here means I won’t have Chris moping around all weekend so honestly you being here is a service to me.”

How is Nattie really doing with all this work? I’m like Chris and worried she’s not drinking enough water and getting enough sleep!

Chris: Well she'll say she's fine but I'm worried about her. I know she loves her job but I'm worried she won't say no to things and get overwhelmed. I haven't quite figured out the right way to help or have her tell me if she's really overwhelmed or not but I just love her so much and want to see her not work so hard.

In Living Color Sneak Peek

The two chatted non-stop as they went to the costume trailer where Nat waited outside as Chris got out of his costume and makeup and emerged in his illegally tight white tee shirt and sweats. Almost immediately she was tucked back under his arm as they walked together toward a trailer down at the end of the line where Chris held open the door and let Nat walk in before following her inside.

After the door of the trailer was shut behind them, the pair were finally alone for the first time in much too long. The separation between them had been a lot harder on each of them than they’d even realized but especially for Nat. She wasn’t used to being separated for so long and it was something she thought would be a little easier than it had been. Every time she faced another night alone or weekend without hearing that familiar loud laughter, she felt her heart dropping a little.

Nat had thrown herself into her work even more, focusing on her artwork and although it helped get her mind off of missing Chris, it had caused her to be more burned out than she had imagined. But now she finally was here with him. She could finally breathe in his scent and feel his hand rubbing up and down her arm as he stepped closer and lowly said, “I missed you so fucking much, Nattie.”

The look in those blue eyes of his gazing at her from under those long eyelashes had her getting weak at the knees. She couldn’t resist being able to finally wrap her arms around him, feeling the firm muscles of his back underneath his soft white tee shirt as his arms came around her waist and caged her in. In an instant his mouth was on hers, kissing Nat completely senseless as she started feeling dizzy, needing nothing more in this moment than him.

She loved him so fully, so completely that she couldn’t wait a second longer to pull away, breathless as she whispered, “I love you, Chris.” The moment was so intense, both of them so desperate for one another and their chest heaving as they tried to catch their breath, but that one statement from her seemed to stop everything. Nat was still pressed up against him as he lifted his head, his tender eyes looking down at her as he reminded her, “I love you too, Nat. So much.”

Worlds Apart

Chapter One

Summary: Single mom, Bridget Clark, thought that she was fine by herself. Moving her son to a new town and out of the hustle and bustle of Boston, she thought that life would be quieter and simpler, but a chance encounter with a certain Hollywood actor only a week after their big move had her questioning everything. Bridget was faced with the ultimate decision of head vs heart, but would letting her guard down prove to be worth the risk?

-----

February 2016

It all happened so fast.

One minute Bridget Clark was searching through the pile of hard avocados for one that was perfectly ripe and the next she was frantically searching through the aisles of the unfamiliar grocery store for her son.

She fought to keep her breath steady - she’d only looked away for thirty seconds, maybe a minute, he couldn’t have gotten far - but as her feet hit the ground with increasing urgency, she could feel the panic tightening her chest with every empty aisle she passed. By the time she made it to the other end of the store with no sign of her son anywhere, her heart was pounding. She knew he was smart enough not to leave the store without her - at least not by himself and his flair for the dramatics had her doubting that anyone would have been able to take him without him causing a scene - but the store wasn’t particularly big and she was sure she should have seen him if he was still there. In a last ditch attempt to find him, she raced back to where she’d started her search to make sure he hadn’t doubled back, but she prepared herself to start screaming for help if he wasn’t there.

You all don’t want to sleep on this story. It’s so fun and sweet but so intriguing and just everything you want a fic to be!

‘Can you call me when you have time? I need to talk to you.’

Chris’ brows furrowed as he saw Nat’s notification pop up on his laptop, leaving him with little to go off of as the simple message disappeared just as quickly as it’d appeared. He frowned as he thought over the message, hands itching to at least text her back, but before he could, Mark joined the Zoom call, his smiling face doing little to distract Chris as they prepped for the quick call with the others involved with the project.

Chris watched Nat as she checked the temperature of the chicken, shutting the door of the oven quietly as Mark and Jamie boomed with laughter from behind them. The happy laughter in the room made Chris smile, his cheeks practically aching from how much he’d been laughing and smiling the past two days he’d been up in this cabin in the mountains of Washington.

They’d spent Christmas on opposite coasts, with their own families back in their hometowns, before Chris, Dodger, Scott, and Scott’s partner flew to Washington to join Nat, Mark, Jamie, and Lauren at a ski town just east of Seattle, tucked away in a large rental in the snowy mountains. He’d missed Nat desperately over the holiday, despite only being separated for nearly two weeks. They’d made the decision together to spend the holiday apart, but it hadn’t made it any easier and instead had only made them a bit more attached to their phones than either anticipated that day.

But here in Washington, surrounded by their closest group from California, they’d slipped seamlessly back together, evidenced by Chris smacking her ass as she walked by him to open another bottle of wine for everyone. He’d thought the action went unnoticed by the group in the kitchen, with Scott and Steve making a salad by the sink and Lauren handling the potatoes while Mark and Jamie sat at the island and prepped green beans, but a groan told him otherwise.

I know you mainly write for Chris but have you ever thought about writing for a different celebrity?

Your writing is just so good!💖

Thank you so much! Honestly, I haven't. I've kind of explained before but I'm just not as much into celebrities like I used to be so it's hard for me to like care that deeply about a celeb for me anymore. Also a few things in my life are changing so I'm not going to have time for hardly any writing anymore, or at least for a while. Thank you so much for the compliment though!

December 17th, 2021

Chris shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked down the concrete sidewalk, full after dinner across the table from Scott. He kept laughing as they walked, listening to Scott’s ridiculous story he had started telling when they were leaving dinner and kept on telling the entire time they looked for a spot to parallel park on the LA street. He was fully invested in the story that was starting to wrap up but found his attention being pulled away when he spotted the a-frame sign sitting out on the sidewalk with a familiar name listed and a picture of his Nattie on it.

Tonight was the opening of her art show and although he’d gone back to Massachusetts after coming to LA for some reshoots when he was fresh off of Disney World, he had flown back out for the weekend specifically for Nat’s art show because there was no way he was going to miss this. He remembered back in August one night when they had been snuggled on the couch watching a movie in her small apartment and she’d received a call from the gallery curator, inviting Nat to be their featured artist for this December show and a smile appeared on his face when he pictured the excitement on her face and the way she had squealed with joy after hanging up the phone. She’d been working in the little bit of spare time she had the past few months creating some new pieces for the show and in all of that time watching her create, he had been in awe, never being able to fully wrap his brain around just how incredibly talented and hardworking she was, watching with amazement each time she put a stroke of her brush on her paper.

“Okay I think these pants are going to have to be unbuttoned after that meal,” Chris sighed as he leaned back in his chair, looking at the empty dishes scattered around the table in front of him, a slight yawn escaping him as his arm rested across the back of Nat’s chair.

“Honestly that was a rookie move,” Zach laughed from the opposite end of the table, pointing a finger at Chris as he smirked. “You should have just worn sweats.”

He held a hand up, informing him, “Normally I do but I didn’t know Hungarians went this hard on Thanksgiving.”

It’d been a great day already – one that Chris knew he’d never forget. The entire trip together back to Nat’s hometown had been memorable, but spending the day in and out of the kitchen with her father and family, taking the kids on a walk around the neighborhood while Alex and Zach tried to get Jack to nap, helping put together a Thanksgiving meal, all while seeing Nat entirely in her element…. There was nothing like this to Chris.

In Living Color Sneak Peek

Nat shrugged, thinking over his question for a moment. “I mean, I always like to work on things with Mark and Jamie,” she began with a smile.

“Your work husbands,” Alex amended with a smirk.

“Yeah I like when we’re all working on the same project because it gives us an excuse to hang out all day at work,” she smiled fondly at the thought of her two best friends that Chris knew were more like family to her than anything else. Nat pushed a stray curl out of her face and tucked it behind her ear before shrugging, “But honestly, I’m not sure. I’ve liked getting to be the lead designer for Buzz but it’s been so grueling so I think it’d be nice to have something a little bit lower pressure but we’ll see.”

Chris saw the way that Alex smiled as she first looked at him before her eyes settled on her younger sister, “Yeah especially because I have a feeling you’ll be busy traveling to Boston more often.”

And just the thought of that had Chris’ heart warming. Entertaining the idea of Nat coming back to Boston and spending moments just like this but with his family was enough to have him melting inside, selfishly just wanting Nat every moment of every day and he turned his head to look at Nat smiling softly at him while he honestly spoke, “I like the sound of that.”
