Just a place to post my artistic side, but to also reblog the things that I love and am passionate about.

I love when you see stray cats experience joy and comfort the likes of which they've never even dreamed and they literally don't know how to respond to it yet. it's like they're just mashing every response button wildly, trying to figure out how to express this overwhelming feeling: PURR? KNEAD? BITE? SCRATCH? WRITHE? SNARL? MEOW? RUB?? ???

"I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it's like to feel absolutely worthless, and they don't want anyone else to feel like that."

This quote from Robin Williams has always stuck with me.

There's a reason I mostly make cute, wholesome art, even when things are dark and I'm crumbling inside. Its because I love making you all smile. And I hope you never have to feel as sad as I do.

I just learned yesterday that Pikachu, my favorite Pokemon, was originally designed not by Ken Sugimori (he only finalized the design), but by a female graphic designer named Atsuko Nishida.

Also after googling her, I found out that she’s also designed Sylveon–another favorite PKMN of mine. She’s also illustrated some very pretty Pokemon cards!!

Thank you Ms. Nishida! :-) May you get more credit and love for your contribution to the Pokemon franchise.

Here’s some other Pokemon she’s designed, for anyone curious:

and not to derail this post into anything overtly political, but: If it weren’t for a woman in the gaming industry, we wouldn’t have freakin’ Charizard. I feel like that’s something more people should know about!

Another pair of characters from Wicked Gamble. And presently my pride and joy. I almost cried at how good it is.

If interested, you can read both the comic and the novel at these spots.

So hi!

Been super timid about this, but time to start advertise about my webcomic that I am running with my gf. This is a scene and chapter cover for chapter 3. We are wanting to make this into a cartoon in the future.

If interested, you can read both the comic and the novel at these spots.

SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (2023)

Okay normally I wouldn’t reblog something like this so soon after the movie came out but I HAVE to tell y’all about this scene

According to Lord and Miller, this scene was an extremely late addition to the movie. As in, “they-had-already-released-the-first-trailer” late.

And the reason that is relevant is because a fan named Preston Mutanga, with his spare time, recreated the entire trailer in LEGO stop motion animation and posted it online after it came out.

Lord and Miller saw the perfect recreation of their trailer, thought it was brilliant, and WROTE IN A LEGO UNIVERSE SCENE in order to get this kid some screen time on one of the biggest animated films ever released.

Mind you, Lord and Miller directed and made THE LEGO MOVIE. And they thought this kid’s trailer was so incredible that instead of making a Lego scene themselves, which they very well could have, they brought him in to work on it.

So while you are watching this movie, know that an extremely cool 14-year-old is telling his friends that he got to personally animate one of the funniest jokes in one of the biggest movies ever made.

I just think that’s in-fucking-credible.

^Here’s a link to the original trailer recreation, posted on Preston’s Twitter.

So, they found the wreckage of the oceangate sub. That window at the front of the sub that they advertised as being the biggest one of all the deep sea submersibles? The one that was only certified to 1,300 metres, even though they were planning on repeatedly going to depths of nearly 4,000 metres?

Yeah, well, it failed (wow what a shock. not) and there was a "catastrophic implosion," and the guys on board are dead. Like, instantly dead.

Details are scarce at present, but the wreck has been found less than 500 metres from the wreck of the titanic, and I suspect that the implosion happened during the descent and was what caused the loss of contact (that the ship on the surface then took 8 hours to report).

And honestly???? I feel like that's the kindest possible outcome for the men in question. I personally would choose an instantaneous death rather than spending over three days in a metal coffin at the bottom of the ocean waiting for the oxygen to run out, squashed into the space with 4 other people who are all panicking and defecating and urinating and vomiting in the tiny space with me.

Apparently the submersible split in two, by the way. Just like the Titanic itself. The submersible that was called the Titan. So the Titan and the Titanic are now both resting at the bottom of the ocean, both split in two, and five more souls have been claimed by those waters. Do you think we might stop sending people down to look at the wreckage now, or nah?

Rare photos from trans history: Olympic runner and Zdeněk Koubek styles Cinda Glenn’s hair, 1936. Koubek was one of the first trans men to gain international fame after he transitioned in 1935.

this is inspiring weirdly complex emotions in me. like, it’s the fucking 1930s. I can hear the mid-atlantic newsreel voice. the fact that it plays coy with why he knows so much about women’s hairstyles, but like, as a funny surprise, not as shock and horror. the fact that it never deadnames him or uses incorrect pronouns. the fact that he looks like Mickey Rooney. idk it’s just making me feel feelings.

transcription of the caption from the image:

“An expert at women’s coiffures although not a hairdresser, Zdenek Koubek proves himself as he combs the locks of Cinda Glenn, New York night club beauty. Koubek knows all about coiffures from experience, since they were of concern to him when he was the foremost girl athlete of Czechoslovakia, prior to a sex-change.” [end transcription]

I haven’t stopped laughing at this

hmmm... there's probably an INFINITELY more humane way to do this...

i get that they're not killing them and they end up fine, but imagine the trauma of you, a mammal, going through a long ass tube, not knowing what's going to happen to you, and you can't breathe. 🤷‍♀️

They get misted with water throughout the thing, and it results in fewer injuries than the 'ladder' method. Also, it's a fish. It never knows what's going to happen to it at any point in time throughout its life.

And that’s the face of a dog saying to the man I’m not touching you.
