Eddie said "man, I do not know what I'm gonna do without you" and proceeded to Not Do Anything without his man. And I for one think we should respect that.

living happily in my world where maddie had to listen to her brother meltdown about the implication of being in love with his straight best friend and just. took a picture of him. in his adorable little housewife apron. and went. hmm i wonder who would enjoy this. and sent it to eddie. who she never speaks to. and eddie seeing a text from maddie and freaking out. lunging for his phone only to see a beautiful picture of buck practically glowing. and he's like :) thank you maddie :). and then he sets it as his little contact picture for buck. and he's just smiling to himself for the rest of the day.
as much as i like. rly don’t love the foundation of the texas arc and i’m ready for him to come home and to never hear about it again. i will say that this season has made me love eddie soooo much more than i ever thought possible like that is the guy of all time… seeing him guilty and hurt and angry and shaken but still sooo kind and empathetic and bitingly funny and joyful and soft and watching him return to Himself… guy of all time. AND he has a silver star

buck’s pov of eddie: coolest hottest most awesome amazing guy on the planet everything he does is amazing and everyone can see how great he is and everyone should be in love with him and he can do no wrong and if he DOES do something wrong no he didn’t he literally has a silver star
eddie irl: world’s most annoying uber driver
eddie’s pov of buck: most stable, trustworthy, grounded guy, mature and thoughtful, first person you go to in a crisis, gives great advice without a thought for his own gain, basically the ideal partner
buck irl: crashes all the way out the minute eddie leaves town, drunkenly hooks up with his ex, says very unhinged and mean things and makes his sister’s life a living hell
These two most recent episodes of 911 have been some of my favorites this whole season because for the first time it FEELS like 911 again. More of a theme through the episodes, I teared up, character development, and plots moving forward. I’m excited for the rest of the season but I do wish we weren’t having another multi part emergency followed by a week off already 🫣
i cant believe eddie and chris are back to being a team again and buck was at least partially responsible for their reconciliation. the same way i cant believe that eddie is responsible for buck and tommy ending. the way they have each been inextricably linked with each other's major storylines for the past two seasons is. really undeniable
one night after eddie and chris have moved back in with buck when both buck and eddie are feeling too wired to sleep eddie will put on music barely loud enough so they're the only ones who can hear and teach buck one of his ballroom dances by the stove light and they'll giggle into each other's shoulders as they whisper bicker about buck stepping on eddies toes, careful to not wake christopher, and they'll be able to finally see every single spot and blemish on each other's faces because they'll never be 800 miles apart again
it's not lost on me that the role buck has taken in this storyline is the same exact one eddie asked him to play when he put him in his will. back then, buck asked if christopher's grandparents wouldn't try to take him and eddie told him that no one will ever fight for his son as hard as buck, essentially asking him to not only push back against his parents, but to also win, if that ever happened. and now, eddie isn't dead, but he's understandably hesitant to do anything that might hurt christopher by pushing too hard, and in the effort to not fight him, he'd accidentally stopped fighting FOR him for a time as well. until buck, who has full faith in eddie and doesn't share those fears, starts fighting for both of them and pushing eddie to be the kind of dad christopher needs and eddie needs to be again. all this to say the will was never about what place buck might have in their family if eddie actually died. it was always about the place he already has, the one he's earned over and over again.
And well i’m an eddiegirl so like let me say. I think it’s universally acknowledged that what buck is looking for, what buck wants and crucially NEEDS, is someone who will listen to him, and see him, and pay attention to him, and care about his thoughts and what he has to say and him, as a person. Someone who will LET him be the best he can be, this guy who loves so hard and wants to wade into the mess. It’s not about whether it’s accepted that he believes in curses or adopts a dog in the middle of a tantrum. Eddie is here looking to Buck at every turn in this situation that is SO fragile to him, where he feels like THE most important thing in his life is at stake. Chris is his heart and soul. Eddie NEEDS him. And when he’s not feeling surefooted he draws from that endless well of love and devotion and FAITH Buck has in him. He TRUSTS buck. He LISTENS. Deeply. Seriously. He takes it to heart. Because he sees Buck as his partner. THIS IS WHAT BUCK WANTS. WHAT BUCK HAS ALWAYS WANTED. Someone who treasures his love and care so much, someone who lets him know them this deeply, someone who doesn’t see him as a disappointment but as a compass and a light. That’s what he IS to eddie!!!!!!!! THAT’S HOW MUCH EDDIE LOVES HIM. That’s the kind of love Buck has been desperate for and the kind of love that makes him act like a deranged fucking freak!!!!!!
