He was the one who was kindest to her. Out of all of them, Drogo, Viserys, even her handmaidens- he was the kindest. His resolve was harsh, but it’s edges were gentle and curved towards Daenerys. She couldn’t fathom why, but she craved that gentleness almost all the time. Any moment she spent with him was bliss, strangely- any time they rode together in the khalasar, she felt at ease.
The breeze of essos brought a scent of wild-flowers, her oiled hair shifting off shoulder as her gaze flickered around. How long has it been since she ate? Frankly, she didn’t want to eat. Perhaps, if she didn’t eat, Drogo wouldnt want her anymore and would throw the two targaryen’s out. Perhaps then, she would be at peace.
She looked over at the knight, who had been riding close behind her and now pulled side by side to her. She eyed him, chest heaving with small, weak breaths. It was almost as if it were a challenge to breathe, think, even. Her fingers were clutched so tightly to her silvers’ mane. ‘ please tell me, ser jorah, that you have food other than… that… ‘ She looked towards one of the dothraki men, who chewed a rough piece of something that looked like horse jerky. ‘ even stale bread would suffice. ‘
His mind was in the past. It gave him a sense of brooding as he thought back to what brought him here to the Dothraki sea, and what could bring him home once again to Westeros. He’d been silent most of the trip, only answering when directly spoken to, which hadn’t been very often. He didn’t mind though, his Dothraki wasn’t perfectly fluent so he’d only half listen to conversations in passing, ears only perking up when it had been about Daenerys or Viserys.
He’d catch the Khaleesi stealing glances over at him every now and again. He was sure to stay close by to offer the comfort of one that understands her native tongue in case she’d need anything.
“Unfortunately your grace, I do not. You get use to the taste after a while” He hadn’t been picky, eat when hungry and drink when thirsty, though he’s sure the younger is accustomed to more delicate tastes. He did wish he had something better to offer her though.
