― Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

[text ID: God, who am I? I sit in the library tonight, the lights glaring overhead, the fan whirring loudly. Girls, girls everywhere, reading books. Intent faces, flesh pink, white, yellow. And I sit here without identity: faceless. My head aches. There is history to read... centuries to comprehend before I sleep, millions of lives to assimilate before breakfast tomorrow. Yet I know that back at the house there is my room, full of my presence. There is my date this weekend: someone believes I am a human being, not a name merely. And these are the only indications that I am a whole person, not merely a knot of nerves, without identity. I'm lost.]

An afternoon in Dublin marvelling at all the cute bookshops and the red brick buildings. I’m always so happy to come by here to stock up on English books~

whenever a kid is signing up for a library card and they and their parent have good silly vibes i like to treat it like a knighting ceremony. i'm like "jacob, child of hannah, i bestow unto you this card of great freedom and power. are you prepared to take on the literary responsibility of your very own library card? i believe you are." and it always makes them laugh and feel very important it's so much fun. like yeah we do a little improv at the library we do some bits

classics fandom is hilarious as a concept bc sometimes you see a post and go "he would not fucking say that" and it's about marcus cocceius nerva caesar augustus, emperor of rome from 96-98 AD and first of the Five Good Emperors

“Adolin, investigate this broken strap,” “Adolin, solve this murder,” “Adolin, testify in court for the fate of humanity.” This is a lot of pressure to put on a horse girl who just wants to duel

Seattle Public Library is doing this awesome program called Books Unbanned that allows teens and young adults (ages 13-26) access to their collection of e-books and e-audiobooks from anywhere in the USA. All you need to do is fill out a simple form and you get their Books Unbanned card. Please share this information far and wide. I know they're not the only ones to have done this, but the more the merrier!
