I have email addresses older than you. I’m not your mom, so don’t expect me to parent you. I'm three ducks in a trench coat pretending to be a old lady.

who doesn't love a ball toy pit?

ever wondered how many crabs might fit in a confined space? what number of horses might go into a padded pool? what quantity of paws might populate a pit typically filled with colorful plastic balls? well, you’re in luck.

for no reason at all, we have decided to make you do some math: we have filled a ball pit measuring exactly 32” x 8" with some true tumblr icons. more pics below (including, of course, a banana for scale). you have 24 hours to guess how many of each toy appears. good luck!

but that's not all—we have more polls for your guessing pleasure:

poll 1: how many crabs have infested the pool? poll 2: what number of mini horse friends? poll 3: how many tiny toe beans are contained within?

happy voting!

Did I do the math? Of course I did.

If the options for the previous three polls are correct there are only 5 ways to get any of these totals.

798 isn't a possibility.

759 can be gotten by picking the 2nd option for Crabs, Horses, and Paws.

773 can be gotten by picking either the 1st option for Crabs, 3rd for Horses and 2nd for Paws ... OR 2nd for Crabs, 2nd for 2nd for Horse and 4th for Paws.

802 can be gotten by picking either the 2nd for Crabs, 4th for Horses, and 3rd for Paws ... OR 4th for Crab, 2nd for Horses, and 3rd for Paws.

I went in the code again and saw the new Boop paws were vectors this time, so I converted them into some good sized pngs that are a little easier to work.

Save and share to boop your people later!

EDIT - if you're looking for the original svg files I posted them [here]

I truly cannot believe anything at 70 and up has so many votes. I'd have guessed that maybe 5% of people can stand anything that hot and it turns out to be closer to 80%???

Is that why most people's homes and most businesses are just intolerably suffocating to me in summer? I thought they just plain didn't have AC because I figured if they did they'd keep it on what I assumed was the universally preferable range of 67-69 😧

Where I am from, the expected high for Thursday is 96F and last week it was 105F. Now, temps that high are due to climate change (when I was a kid, an unusually hot summer day was over 90 and even then my mother said that was up from when she was a child), but still, on those days, anything under 80F is a blessing.

Also keep in mind AC is expensive because of how much electricity it uses.

For ref I'm in central Florida, the high today is 94F (34.5C) with a heat index of 104F (40C).

Generally during the day in the spring/summer the AC is set between 72-78F (22-25C) depending on temp, humidity, and rain condition. Once the sun goes down and over night we cool it down to as low as 66F (19C). There a few reasons we crank the AC in the evenings: more people are home, the cost of power is noticeably cheaper, the AC works better when not battling daytime temps and the sun.

We have a smart thermostat I've programed to work with the weather rather than against it and know when we'll be home. In practicality the temp rarely gets above 74F (23C).

David Tennant pissing off the Prime Minister bc he told government officials to stfu over their anti-trans bigotry and Michael Sheen literally poisoning himself investigating corporations dumping toxic chemicals in underprivileged areas is NOT the energy I expected from 2024 but oh man am I here for it.
