can’t deal with people who say things like “i dont mind [woman talking about equal rights] but it’s just when they go on about it ALL the time”. And those brackets can be replaced with LGBT problems, body positivity issues, immigration, black lives matter.. and it’s just like.. you must realise how privileged you are to be able to ‘opt out’ of these conversations. the people who talk about these topics ALL the time do so because it affects their EVERY. DAMN. DAY and they have to talk about and fight for these things because it’s their LIFE, not just an interesting topical conversation. Comments like “i agree with you but talk about something else for once” as though people can just stop thinking about fearing for their life on the street just because of their race or their sexuality. Or people can just stop thinking about their crippling self hatred and abuse that comes from having a body that looks a little different. Or just take a day off from thinking about children who are malnourished and dying in concentration camps. I’m NOT sorry if it seems incessant, because it fucking needs to be.
