A royal lap

I take place next to Maxwell in the booth as the guys happily chat with each other. Maxwell keeps blurting out story after story, but even though he is practically screaming in my ear, I find it hard to concentrate on his adventures. I find my eyes and mind drifting off again and again towards Amy.

I see her staring at the handwritten ticket from another table, as she suddenly gets the cutest thinking frown imaginable. A chuckle escapes my mouth at the adorable sight of her. Drake smacks onto the table, and I snap out of it. He boulders, which is the rarest of sights, and Maxwell dramatically lays a hand on his heart, “So which one was it, Liam? Did you chuckle at the fact that I fell off that demon of a horse again and was in serious pain, or do my stories bore you so much that you find the need to move your attention elsewhere?”

An Interesting Night, Afterall

I find myself standing in the mirror for about half an hour now, indecisive about what to wear. It seems like such a small thing, and honestly nothing that I ever recall being bothered by before, but since it’s the last night before social season starts, everything needs to be thought over at least twice. And well, in case of an outfit, at least six times apparently.

HA! What a great question! Here is my take.

One had to be Bryce, there is no way around that.

Since two were also at the wedding, I would have to assume they are old med school buddies of Tobias’s and since they were both their stag that rules the groom out. Lol I am picturing friends she had come to know as well.

Ethan would be number five… which is the number I originally had… and wish I left, because now I am struggling with 6.

Lets day 6 was her last choice because they don’t know him as well. He is this unbelievably hot barista who began working at Derry’s a year ago. He also has the hots for Casey and eyes her every time she walks away. Tobias doesn’t do jealous, but this guy annoys him never the less, so every time he is ogling Casey T makes eye contact and gives him that “you’re never going to get it, buddy”, look before throwing his arm around and kissing an oblivious Casey. Casey just thinks T gets even more amorous at Derry’s so she tries to go there more often. There was no way T was ever picking him. @kachrisberry

This was something!! It literally left me speechless. I definitely agree with this having to be a T & C pairing with E as the plus 1. Ethan would NEVER agree to something like this. Now Tobias is a different kind of rebel so you never know what his limits would be lol. This fantasy of Casey's, is definitely one for the books, especially because it was manifested into real life.

I have to admit I've never read something like this, BUT I think it was tastefully done. It had a lot of LOVE, COMFORT, RESPECT, TRUST and SAFETY in it from everyone. In my opinion, in order for something like this to occur all of these things have to be taken into consideration in conjunction with the right plus one for everyone involved.

I loved the playfulness and banter that occurred throughout. The competitive nature of E & T is hilarious. I loved that Ethan was always considerate and truthfully I would expect nothing less (that would be OOC for my version of Ethan). I loved that Casey always reached for Tobias with unspoken and spoken words. I loved that Tobias was always there being her source of comfort and security.

I am very big into the sense of touch so the addition of Ethan kissing Casey's cheek and wishing her a happy birthday or asking Tobias's permission to kiss her forehead portrayed moments of adoration, love and respect.

Hats off to both of you with this undertaking. There was clearly alot of thought process that went into it. Well done!!

Sneak Peek: Background Story

OK @kachrisberry and I promised thirsty ANONS the background of the characters leading into this, uhm, event - so here it is. 😉

This is a one-time only FF and an AU not connected to any other story/series.
Tobias & Casey are the couple. They have to be. Ethan would die first. :)
They've been together a little over two years and share a townhome. Their relationship is very happy, healthy, secure and they are crazy about each other.
Ethan & Casey had feelings for each other during her first year (canon until Miami). When he rejected her there, she moved on. She's not one to beg for love or affection, especially when there are plenty of options out there.
Prior physical contact between Casey & Ethan was limited to kissing and groping on the balcony in Miami.
At first, Ethan was relieved that Casey gave up on them. He thought he could too. But he didn't, and in time, he came to regret his decision.
He went to the Amazon with the WHO, just to help, not to escape. But with time on his hands far from home, he came to realize he still had feelings for her. He planned on telling her upon his return, but...
Unbeknownst to Ethan, Casey met Tobias shortly before he left (she didn't know about the men's connection). While he was away, they became a full-fledged couple. Casey was very happy and Ethan decided to keep his feelings to himself.
Casey still admires Ethan as a physician/mentor and considers him a good friend. He thinks she is brilliant and a dear friend.
Tobias began working on the diagnostic team at Edenbrook. With Casey's encouragement, the two men reestablished their friendship.
Ethan was still very attracted to Casey on a physical level. He doesn't really know if it went beyond that anymore because he refused to let himself go there. He views her as "the one that got away". If he could do Miami over again, he would.
Ethan is not outright envious of Tobias, but it's a little there.
Tobias knows Ethan still has the hots for Casey. He catches him staring at her on occasion, etc. It doesn't bother him, he's very secure in what they share and he thinks, "Well, who wouldn't want Casey?"
Casey is unaware that Ethan feels anything toward her anymore. Probably because he takes great pains to hide it. She does not have romantic feelings for him, but there is definitely a remaining physical attraction (or curiosity) as he made "the list". See you with s sneak peek on Sunday.

Keegan peeks at her watch as she scribbles a few final notes on her patient’s chart. The time is 4:45 PM. Only two hours and fifteen minutes left until the end of her shift.

It was just this morning she followed Dr. Ramsey to the construction wing of the hospital to find Dr. Banerji lying in a bed. He didn’t retire after all. He is Patient X, and Dr. Ramsey has been treating him in secret. She doesn’t know all of the details yet, but she’s eager to find them out. He promised her they would meet at his place tonight and he would tell her everything. Though after the day she’s had, their conversation this morning feels like a lifetime ago.
