Some otherkin do have delusions. Some are mentally ill. (myself included) But not all of us are. And, in a lot of cases, our mental illnesses aren't related to our being otherkin. Also? A religious or spiritual belief isn't a delusion.

from what I’ve gathered, most otherkin are either

- spiritually otherkin in that their spiritual beliefs on the nature of the soul and of the unexplained parts of the world feature some kind of kinship with a certain animal - psychologically otherkin in that they have mental issues that they deal with by thinking of themselves as something other than human - psychologically otherkin in that they have an impaired sense of identity due to mental problems, and latch onto an animal or a character or whatever to deal with that - just playing around - strawman troll blogs

you telling otherkin that they’re actually human is not actually giving them any new information 99% of the time I assure you, I’m sure you’re disappointed that you couldn’t Trigger some Tumblrinas or whatever
