Judai nearly jumped when he heard the familiar voice, which could’ve been a bad thing considering that ladder wasn’t the most sturdy. He couldn’t help a nervous laugh as he tried to steady himself.
“Hey Asuka.” He threw her a smile before sliding down the ladder, the banner he haphazardly hung up was doing a decent job of not falling.
“You’re just in time! It’s Winged Kuriboh and my’s anniversary of being such close buds.” The banner was clearly hand drawn, and the other decorations were no doubt spoils from whatever dumpster diving event he had gone through. On table, hover was a small little cake that he also no doubt got from Ms. Dorothy.
“Want a slice of cake?”
Although Asuka had originally been taken back by Judai’s naive--- or rather, innocent gesture, she cannot help but smile in exchange. A soft gesture lifting slender shoulders as if to acknowledge the osiris student’s greeting. Honestly, she really should have anticipated something like this. This unique bond between duelist and monster... ( could this be ace of his own skills ?) Regardless, she had to admit she was rather envious of his carefree gesture.
“Well then, happy anniversary to you and Winged Kuriboh. I am sure you two will have plenty of duels yet to come.” An encouragement compliments her directed response, her complexion emitting a ray of confidence to both judai and his chosen partner.
“If you both don’t mind, I’d love a slice.” Asuka finds herself answering in exchange. Her sweet tooth somehow blossoming the moment golden hues captured the sight of strawberries on top. “So how did you two come across one another??”
【ϟ】 “—Haha, that’s real cute. You and both know I’m the only one here competing that’s even from Duel Academy. So who else would you be here to see?” He’d answer he jab in the only way he knew how, with a sarcastic remark. Even if he’d figured Asuka was joking, it was still enough to knock Manjoume right out of his overconfident, ego fed attitude; probably much to Asuka’s appreciation.
“Speaking of seeing each other again, where’ve you been anyway? Off studying in the states, I know, but how’s that going?”
❝ I’ll have you know, that I happen to know people outside of Duel Academy. ❞ A rhetoric response elapse their way from rose colored lips in her defense. Eyebrows naturally arched if only to reinforce the idea that she has indeed embraced the future and all of its shortcomings; of course she’d be lying if she flat out denied his allegation... After all, she genuinely did make an effort to see him------, but then again it was only because her university just happened to be closed by.
❝ I’ve been studying around here, actually. And things are indeed going well but... ❞ She’s been too busy that she actually haven’t had the chance to visit ; (much less stay in contact with anyone in Duel Academy aside from her brother). ❝ That’s hardly as exciting as what you’re up too.❞
i am much more rusty on asuka then any other muse but, please like for a starter.
【ϟ】 “ Now that you’re here? Things couldn’t be better. And here I’d thought you were too busy with things now to worry about what everyone else got into after school. ” Manjoume can’t help but mirror her smile in an almost warm grin of his own as he teases. It’d felt like forever since he’d last heard from Asuka that just seeing her in person now was enough to lift any pre-tournament jitters he’d been harboring.
“ Don’t tell me you’re actually here to see me for a change? ”
“Some things just doesn’t change, huh thunder?” Perhaps the old Asuka might have flinched in response to such corny greeting ; ( in fact she might of had to physically restrain herself from twitching all together ) . However, overall, the mood was good. Even when she was often busy from her studies, there was never a moment where she didn’t missed Duel Academy and her friends. Shifting her gaze, her posture moves accordingly. Shoulders lifting as if to mimic a casual shrug — or rather to tease him a bit from her original intentions.
“I was actually here to see another duelist, but you’ll just have to do — kidding!” Of course she was here to see him, “It’s really great to see you again.”
❝ now there’s a face i haven’t seen in awhile. ❞ such acknowledgement ventures within her familiar tone ; a subtle look of nostalgia and entertainment naturally combined as she greets her former classmate with a swift smile. after all, how long has it been since they had last seen one another? aside from the obvious growing media, if she can recall: they haven’t actually seen each other since they graduated back in duel academy. ❝ how’d you been ?? ❞
❝ — oh hey, are you okay?? ❞ a ray of concern reflects within her golden orbs ; a single eyebrow immediately raised as she peers closer within the blonde man’s fallen form. politely offering her hand in assistance, asuka’s posture remains ultimately firm. after all, it was hardly in her nature to leave behind someone in need. ❝ that was some nasty fall there. ❞
