[Image ID:] A black and white illustration of Amanda Grayson from Star Trek gesturing to Sarek. He is blushing and covering the side of his mouth with a hand. There is a speech bubble coming out of her mouth to show that she is saying "what if the aliens want to fuck us tho?" [End Image ID]

I mean, we're talking about the captain who canonically had to deal with mysterious alien STDs with a medical system entirely consisting of a single hologram doctor and a part-time nurse who was mostly needed to fly the ship and/or a four year old nurse unfamiliar with her own biology, let alone that of any other species

vs

the captain whose go-to diplomatic or espionage tactic to avoid violence and galactic-scale political incidents was the honeypot and this almost always worked out for him - including the times he used his first officer as the honeypot after realising the mark had the hots for those pointy ears.

I'm just saying, they had VASTLY different experiences informing their stance here

Martok and worfs relationship is so special to me. Like martok just spent 2 years in a dominion prison camp getting the shit beaten out of him and knowing that while hes in there klingons are dying in a changeling engineered war so obviously hes feeling very disillusioned. But then this other weird klingon shows up FIGHTS THE JEM HADAR WITH ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IN HIM and suddenly hes cheering about triumphs and planning songs and hes actually excited rather than beaten down like theres a whole change in his demeanor from the start of in purgatorys shadow/by infernos light and its so wonderful to see.

And worf has spent the majority of his interactions with other klingons on star trek getting mocked for having a human upbringing or being in star trek or being dishonored and then he meets this klingon general who thinks hes the shit and starts immediately singing his praises. Their relationship is so important and i love it so much im so glad they became brothers

STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES season two | episode three- the changeling What's the problem? An almost human stubbornness, Captain. I have been unable to convince Nomad to lower its screens for analysis. Without its co-operation, I can do nothing.

someone should’ve introduced data to crochet. i think that would’ve been good for him.

crochet can’t be replicated by a machine but one of the central points of data as a character is that he’s not just a machine. just imagine someone giving him a hook and some worsted weight yarn, and he makes an absolute beaut of an afghan and then geordi probably mentions that he hears crochet can’t be done by a machine and then the look on data’s face, u know the look. u get the vision.
