Dear Open Journal: Timberwolf Dream

Also, had a very vivid detailed dream last night. I was at my grandparents farm in my dream. My grandpa was on the ground outside and there was a large gray timberwolf about 20 feet away from him just standing, not aggressive. Grandpa was scared and I ran out and helped him get into the house because this was a huge wild wolf! The wolf trotted after us and pushed on the door. I shut and locked the door because he wasn’t invited and Grandpa was scared. The wolf transformed into a young man with long dirty blond hair… (I’ll draw him when I get home). He looked thru the glass of the window and we locked eyes. He said “Remember my face when you wake up. I’ll be back and we’ll talk.” I said “I’m going to remember your face.” He nodded and I woke up.

This was last night. I’ve not forgotten his face as a wolf nor as a human.

I’d say the male version of you was your subconsciousness, and the woman was probably another aspect of you (likely the part of you shaped by society) that’s preventing you from doing/being/having something it wants/needs. Your subconsciousness is aware of whatever desire you have and was trying to lead you to it.

Good thoughts...now to find out what I want/need. I find it interesting that a selfish mother was blocking me, not some strong man or old white man but a mom who wanted control. I also think this controlling mother is also me, an archetype, a shadow side of my own personality that I must outsmart in order to truly unite my conscious and subconscious.
