DOS:
π DO treat them with respect,
π DO text them if youβre going to be gone for a while,
π DO make sure that they eat three meals a day,
π DO remind them how much you love them everyday,
π DO make sure they take their meds if they need to,
π DO encourage them to shower, brush their teeth and get dressed in the morning,
π DO remember to tell them youβre proud of them in everything they do,
π DO try to make time for them,
π DO make sure theyβre in a safe place when they regress, and they know theyβre loved,
π DO encourage them to eat healthy foods,
π DO remember boundaries and how to not overstep them,
π DO tell them if youβre not in the mood to baby them, but be gentle and respectful about it.
DONTS:
π DONT yell at them when theyβre regressing,
π DONT laugh at them or make fun of anything they do in little space,
π DONT take away stuffies, pacis, blankets or comfort items as a punishment,
π DONT point out flaws whatsoever,
π DONT continue doing something that makes them uncomfortable,
π DONT yell at them for regressing because youβre busy/not in the mood,
π DONT call them immature for regressing,
π DONT force them to do anything they donβt want to do,
π DONT ignore them as a punishment,
π DONT make fun of cartoons or movies they watch when regressing,
π DONT make them feel stupid for regressing,
π DONT make them feel sad or bad because they didnβt do what you asked.
