Well I am craving waffles and that sounds like literally the most perfect thing right now, He says, trying to laser focus his thoughts into lunch and less into whatever direction they were going concerning Paz because she was his friend, right? Sure, they were fake dating at the moment to get Mabel off their backs, and so far it has been working but… he can’t help the feeling he has of sweaty palms and nervous breaths when he thinks about her sometimes. Gripping the steering wheel, he tries concentrating on the road. You’ll love it, Lazy Susan’s the best.

Image

Pacifica nods, she had seen the diner a time or two. It always seemed pretty cozy, but it was, of course, for commoners, so she had never been inside. Something stirred at the thought of Dipper being the first. And, okay, it was fake dating, but they had to make it look real, right? And why wouldn’t Dipper buy his “girlfriend” dinner at Lazy Susan’s, right? She has to smirk, just for a moment, as she meets his eye for a split second. “As the boyfriend, you’re buying.” She smirk fades into a soft smile. Calling him her boyfriend, straight out, no “fake” thrown in, no air quotes in person or tone. Something about it felt...right. There was this warm feeling that rushed into all her limbs with the single word.

Hey, if they pass the age of seventeen, they’re young adults,Dipper replies with a roll of his eyes but the ever present smile on his face. Besides my papers were–like– twenty pages long, okay? Five is nothing. Wish I had professors who were as lenient as I am. Hearing her soft laugh brought him back to life and suddenly made the rest of his day more palpable and tolerable. The memories of what they did in their college days wasn’t a bad image to have in mind either. I’ll bring Chinese then. I’m in the mood for some eggrolls.

Image

“Dipper,” she says smirk still on her face, “They’re still in school. They’re still kids. We’re still kids.” She steps to him and hugs him, “These are freshmen you’ve got in here, Dipshit. Five is a lot. As for your ‘twenty page papers’” she pulls away from him to make air quotes, “They were more like seven pages, and I had to revise them. I went through like, eight red pens one year.”

Image

Let me be dramatic in peace, Dipper laughs, throwing her a quick kiss. Now, go, go, or I’ll be late for class and already have two or three students going away cause they thought I wouldn’t make it. I’ll bring lunch soon, love you, alright? He says, giving her a quick kiss to the side of her head as he heads to the door. See you after.

Able to solve problems with a sense of humor and make an individual laugh when they need to, often associated with Tanya's.

Driving around with Pacifica was always weird but there’s an added layer of strange when it’s all static electricity between them. He’s not exactly sure what is it that changed between them, but he does know when to keep his mouth shut and right now seemed like the p e r f e c t example of when to do said thing. The scenery around them keeps passing them by in a flash of colors and he wonders how lucky they had gotten in managing to transfer back to Gravity Falls. Mabel and him wanted more than anything to move here and now that they were it almost seemed… surreal. After a while, not standing the silence, he turns the stereo on to make some noise fill the space. “Do you want me to leave you home or do you wanna go for lunch?

Image

She was used to driving in Dipper’s truck by now, but that didn’t mean that she still trusted how clean he kept it or his driving skills. Even with the odd charge in the air, even with the change, she keeps herself delicately sat to the passenger’s side, seat belt tightly fastened, sitting primly in her place, and trying to keep her feet from touching all the strewn about fast food bags. Ugh. He turns on the radio, some popular tune, and she bobs her head to the beat. She shrugs, “I don’t need to be home until dark. Lunch sounds like a good idea.”

Image

You ever go to Lazy Susan’s? He asks with legit interest, Dipper wasn’t a good cook so he doesn’t do much at home, and there’s only so much fast food you can eat before you get sick of the stuff, but diner food always seemed to be that really good in between. Besides, he needs to clean this truck out of all the garbage anyway, what was he thinking? Making Pacifica climb up here with so much junk lying around? It’s really good. I feel like breakfast for lunch right now.

Image
Image

“I think maybe once, with Mabel, she was craving cheesy fries.” Pacifica answers, staring out the window, bopping her head to the music on the radio, watching their town, the town she grew up in and knew about every square inch of, except for the woods,  whiz by in a flash of green and concrete. She hadn’t eaten when she’d gone with Mabel, except for stealing a few of the fries, but it was cute, a retro diner look that was back in style. She had made a mental note back then to eat there sometime, but she’d never gotten around to it, until now. “I dunno about breakfast for lunch, but I’m sure I’ll find something to eat.”

Pacifica nods, she’d been homeschooled for elementary school, but the sixth graders raved about Miss Winter. She was a favorite all through high school. Sometimes it felt like she’d missed something. “Yes, that’s me. But I’m not sure how you’d guess that. I never had you for a teacher.”

Image

“I only teach elementary school kiddo. By the time I moved into this town- you were well into middle school. Gideon Gleeful knows of me.. only slightly. The Corduroy boys do too!”

Reputation with the high school teenagers was not a surprise for Olivia. She had to make frequent trips to the school when the elementary school ran out of stock of paper or pencils. Not to mention the board meetings that involved every teacher in the county.

“Well you are a big deal in this town Pacifica. Haven’t you won a few pageants in this place? Your father too- Preston Northwest. Everyone knows him, buttercup.”

Image

“That probably explains why I’ve heard your name around, then.” The blonde states with a shrug. Then she mentions her pageants, she hadn’t been in any since she was a kid. As for her father, sure she knew that he was known around town, by extension making her known, but it had been so long since she had allowed her parents to force her into the spotlight that she often forgot how well known around town she was as well. Subject change. Now. She decides. “So,” Pacifica says, glancing at her nails, faking boredom, “You like teaching elementary school?”

Pacifica SCRUNCHES up her nose, “It is DEFINITELY your GEL,” she agrees. If the simple FACT he’d found it in his BASEMENT wouldn’t have given it away, the fact that it OOZED out of the lid would have. “Okay. You HAVE to let me buy you NEW GEL then.” She is NOT letting Robbie walk around with greasy hair from bad gel. No way.
Image

“Well, if you feel that STRONGLY about it, I’m not gonna object or anything.” He pauses, thinking about that grody gel sitting there leaving a little sticky ring on the bathroom counter. “So, what, do I just toss the old gel? That kinda seems like a waste, don’t you think?

Image

“If you had objected,” she says with an eye roll, “I would’ve just don it anyway.” She shrugs, sits back and rolls her shoulders, before giving him another eye roll and a mildly disgusted look, “It’s not a waste, it could be effecting your health. It’s old, it’s oozing, it could be like, toxic sludge at this point, Robbie.” She crosses her arms over her chest, “So yes, get rid of it, or I’ll do that for you, too.”

Avatar

Pacifica manages a  n e r v o u s  laugh after he tells her he won’t tell on her. She keeps her eyes on her hands,  c u r l e d  around the mug of hot chocolate as Stanley Pines goes on about how he doesn’t like her  p a r e n t s,  about how he’s glad she’s  s n e a k i n g  around behind their backs. Part of her fires up in betrayal, that’s her family he’s  t a l k i n g  about! But she quiets that part. They hadn’t been  g o o d  family at all, and while it’s in her nature to feel  l o y a l  to them, she knows they would leave her if they didn’t need a  h e i r  so bad. “Thank you  M i s t e r   P i n e s,” she tells him genuinely,  f o r c i n g  herself to meet his gaze again. “I don’t know what I would’ve  d o n e  if you hadn’t let me in.”

— —★ He could see that b e t r a y a l flash in her eyes, and for a brief moment, he felt bad. But he was t i r e d of seeing young kids feel obliged to be loyal to their families that were so t e r r i b l e to them. He struggled with it himself. Nothing mattered m o r e  to him than family, but it was partially because his family had tossed him on the streets, making him c r a v e to have them back. He never did get the c h a n c e to get his family back, but by some miracle, he and Ford were on g o o d terms again, and those nibblings might as well be his grand kids. His parents might not have been the b e s t, but at least he had Ford. Pacifica had no s i b l i n g s“Eh, don’t worry about it. Those kiddos of mine would have w r u n g my neck if they heard I turned you away.”

Pacifica can see a flash of... s o m e t h i n g  in his eyes. Hurt or  r e g r e t  maybe. Then this contemplative look takes over his  f e a t u r e s  and she can tell he’s thinking hard about something. Maybe something  p a i n f u l  by the looks of it. Her family was not the best, but they were still her family, and wasn’t blood thicker than water? Wasn’t that what  e v e r y o n e  said? If it were t  r u e  then why did the  P i n e s  family mean so much that she feels  h u r t  on their behalf when her father speaks  b a d l y  about them? If blood was truly thicker than water, wouldn’t she agree with her parents far easier? Maybe blood wasn’t thicker than water, or maybe her blue blood was thinner than water? She nods, a smile on her face at the thought, “I’m sure they would have.” Her voice is still quiet. She loves those twins. They had done so much, and had been so helpful, despite how horrible she had been to them as a child. “I can’t believe they’d be very  h a p p y  with my parents either...but then again, they never really have, have they.”
