Some hand references.

Redid a post by fucktonofanatomyreferencesreborn with sources because they never source anything and I don’t want to reblog that post because I don’t want to support blogs who don’t give credit to people

(No, stating that the art is ~not yours~ and ~came from elsewhere~ IS NOT PROPER CREDIT. Many of these have usernames and such on them but not every single one and you still ought to link back to the specific piece)

I couldn’t source the last one so I didn’t include it.

Hand practice! My lecturer said my hands look all the same so I tried to put in some character. It’s hard! Will try to simplify more next. (You’re welcome to use these for reference)

Digital posing tools for iPhone and Android

Have you heard of two iPhone apps called “Pose Tool” and “Handy” ? Pose Tool lets you pose a male or female figure, light it, see muscle groups, change body types, and position your camera. It’s good on the fly app for anyone who wants to pose their reference or change perspective. Handy is a library of high quality hands and has faces, male and female. This is great for complicated hand positions and also has a pretty robust lighting system. I just thought I’d let you all know.

So I have this really awesome book called Giovanni Civardi’s Complete Guide to Drawing. It’s stuffed full of awesome references like this, and since I know a lot of people struggle with hands, I would share some of my favorite pages. Let me know if you’d like more, this book is absolutely filled with this stuff.

A workable fuck-ton of male archery references (per request).

[Please note that the top two images of the white statues are for weaker bows; typically, the bow will have a stronger pull weight. The front arm would be fully extended and straight, and the hand gripping the arrow would not be pinching the arrow itself.]
