I’ve noticed Libra under the sun, moon or Venus tend to be the most concerned with appearance especially first decan (solely Venus influenced). It could seem vain or shallow and sometimes these traits are subtly present but it mostly has to do with perfectionism. There is a perfectionist streak in mercury decan as well but it’s more of an anxious temperament (worried of not being good enough in ability) rather than an envious temperament (wanting what they can’t have to settle an unknown sense of emptiness) found in Venus decans. Regardless, the goal always seems to be “completion” with these Libra placements in particular, as if they feel they are missing or lacking half of themselves and the battle within is struggling to find what they feel is missing. In this instance, they look outwards for answers (as they fail to recognize that they are in fact “complete” inside of themselves but the shortage of self-love prevents this awareness). Libra represents the scales so they want everything to be “balanced” or well proportioned (in other words, perfect). More than anyone, there can be an obsession of an ideal body or even a sculpted personality they want to emulate. There can be a subconscious motivation of “if I become this, people will love me” and this “love” will somehow complete them. When they can’t find a pretend sense of love elsewhere, perhaps they look for pleasure instead to feed their unrealized hunger. Sweet Venus nectar becomes poison in this state
