Seriously just a bit of pollen could make your cat sick within a matter of minutes. Stay far away from Easter lilies if you have kitties!

This goes for dogs too!! ALL LILLIES ARE TOXIC TO THEM

It seems he had problems. It was a hero. But if he really does not scold him, that’s good, right?

“My parents are at work right now. But I know where the office of a friend of our family is located! I also can go home alone. I know the way.”

“I would feel a little remiss in my duties as a hero if I didn’t make sure I walked you there.” Emphasis on walk, naturally. “So come on.” He waved for the small blonde to lead the way before noticing the plushie in the boy’s hands. “Is that Endeavor? Is he your favorite hero?” He offered to start a conversation with the winged boy while they walked together.

Aizawa had never been one for making connections, making friends, forming attachments. Few people were obvious exceptions- Yamada, who had been his friend since they were kids, for example. But the students were all mesmerized by a hero he rarely crossed paths with, so he felt a certain duty to try and get said hero as a guest in the class.

This kids could never claim he didn’t do anything for them. It made sense that they liked Hawks though, since he was so far at the top and not much older than them. He was a good example of hard work meeting natural talent.

Plus it meant Aizawa could take a nap while Hawks spoke to the students. So that brought him to the agency where the number 2 hero worked. A secretary told him Hawks would be arriving in a few minutes so he just took a seat and waited with arms crossed, trying to figure out what to say that would convince the young man to be his guest speaker.

It was one of the quiet patrols. The villains were mostly thieves, who came across in his field of vision and it was a bit boring. But Hawks liked such a lull.

The League has not yet manifested itself, and this could have put on guard if Hawkes did not know that they had not planned anything serious yet, simply selecting new candidates for the League.

When he and his sidekicks returned to the office, he was informed that the Eraser was waiting for him. Hawks was a little surprised. What could Eraser bring to him? Having met his eyes, Hawks forced himself to smile.

“Eraserhead! What brings you to my humble office? Do you need some help from hero no 2?”

He spent some time planning what to say to Hawks, but by the time he arrived, Aizawa had almost started dozing off. It was dangerous to sit still to long.

He was completely awake when the blonde hero finally returned from patrol though, rising from his seat. The red winged was a little shorter in person, but Aizawa was on the shorter side himself so the height difference wasn’t much. “In a sense, yes.” He remarked when the blonde asked if he needed help.

“I know you’re busy, I won’t waste much of your time.” He was pretty straight to the point any way, beating around the bush wasn’t his style. “Many of my students are absolutely mesmerized by you. I’m here to ask if you would consider being a guest speaker in my classroom.” He stuck his hands in his pockets as he spoke, calm and basically monotone as usual.

i love the idea of stain sort of liking aizawa as a hero because then we’d have

1. stain hero killer kinda liking aizawa pro hero

2. shirigaki ‘league of villains leader’ telling aizawa, to his face, that he thinks eraserhead is cool

and

3. kurono ‘engineered a horrible drug that takes away peoples quirks’ telling aizawa that he has specific interest in him

and tbh i just kinda love the concept of villains constantly being like ‘heroes are bad but i guess eraserhead is kinda cool’ and aizawa wondering why the fuck all these vilains are so weirdly interested in him

Aizawa is a minimalist until she starts living with him. He will buy her everything and anyone can fight me on that.

Aizawa looked down at the flurry of messages that pinged on his phone after a staff meeting. Why would someone adopt a teenager a cat without making sure he knew what he was doing? “What store are you at? I’ll come help you out.” He messaged back.

“That’s next.” He agreed, leading the way in that direction. “You need to make sure you get a breakaway collar.” He picked up the first one he saw, tugging on it to demonstrate how it opened easily enough. “In case it gets caught while she’s playing around.”

That was a good idea. He didn’t Tora to strangle herself. Deku picked a cute one with the breakaway clasp and he checked to make sure it broke easily. Looking over everything in the cart it seemed like he was finished.

“I guess that’s everything right?”

“That should be everything.” He agreed with a nod after looking at the cart. “Actually wait, you need some kind of scratching post or board- something she can scratch that isn’t your couch.” He remmebered.

“We are so excited to have you joining us at our institution, Miss Blackheart.” Principal Nezu told the young girl following behind him towards her new class. “After all the chaos and media that has happened so far, I was worried you were going to terminate your request for your exchange program! Also I am so sorry it took us so long to complete the paperwork.”

The girl shook her head with a small smile, “It’s quite alright, sir. I understand. I’m just happy to be here even if it is in the middle of the year.”

“Yes well, we are happy to have you. Here we are! Class 1A!” He said happily before sliding the door open. “Mr. Aizawa! I have that exchange student I mentioned in the board meeting. Dear, come introduce yourself and feel free to state your quirks!”

Stepping into the classroom nervously, the gradient haired girl gave everyone a shy smile. “Hello! My name is Diana Blackheart! It’s a pleasure to meet all of you and I’m looking forward to graduating with you all.” She answered, forgetting to mention her quirks as she waved a bit.

Diana was nervous, you couldn’t blame her for forgetting. Though her fox traits were not present so there were no hints at whatever quirks she had until she says them.

Everything wasn’t okay. He was upset, but not with her by any means. The older male sat down in the office chair, motioning for her to just take Toshinori’s seat since he was already gone.

Talking about emotions and feelings was annoying. He would rather ignore them and pretend they didn’t exist, but that had brought things to such a breaking point last night that he had severely messed up in his duties as a father. “It’s about last night.” He admitted what she probably already guessed, hunching forward and resting his arms on his knees.

“What you tried to show me- I didn’t react well. I’m sorry I hurt you that way.” Hizashi had given him a lecture once he finally emerged from his sleeping bag later that night. “You… caught me off guard. Because you looked so much like my mother and the truth is, I didn’t know how to handle it. I have a lot of… unresolved feelings toward her loss and… Well, that’s not important now.” He shook his head a little to clear it. “It’s just an excuse. I wasn’t a good father last night and I just wanted to apologize for that.”

Pouting Diana hopped off the desk and sat in the chair, pulling her legs up to cross under her while she looked at him.

Hearing everything he said, made Diana frown and slowly shake her head. He may be a pro and a teacher but he could be a real idiot sometimes. “I’m going to say this once. You are a good father. You try your hardest and there are going to be things thrown at you that you couldn’t possibly know how to handle.” She began to say, crossing her arms while lowering her legs to lean back in the chair.

I should have known better than to suddenly just change like that. Especially after you bluntly refused to talk about them at first. Unresolved issues or not, I should have been more considerate. Did it hurt to have you simply shut down? Yes. But not for the reason you seem to think. I was hurt that I let you down and disappointed you. That I caused you pain simply because of how I looked.

Taking a deep breath after her rant she sighed, shaking her head again. “It’s not your fault Dad. You’re doing what you can. Don’t beat yourself up about it.

He remained slumped over in that seat while she went on about how he shouldn’t be so hard in himself. This whole situation, being a dad, was completely thrown at him out of the blue.

“You’re right, I’m doing the best I can. But you deserve better than that. I mean, Hizashi is a better father to you than I am. He’s loving and nurturing and completely clueless. He always knows just what to say which is why I love the stupid idiot.” He swiftly glanced around the room when he said that as if to double check that they were alone when he proclaimed his love for the voice hero.

A heavy sigh slipped past his lips as he sat up a little, looking off to the side still. “My best isn’t good enough. Not for you. I need to go beyond that. Like I’m always trying to teach you kids. I guess I just realized Plus Ultra applies to more than just hero work.”

He shook his head a little, closing his eyes. “Anyway, that’s all I’ve got to say about it at the moment, so...”

The homeroom teacher swiftly cleaned up and threw out the broken plates before escaping to the bedroom once again. He felt terrible, he really did. Because Hizashi was right, he wasn’t being a good dad. He should be at her side, should be proud of what she’d done.

But he just felt empty.

Once the kitchen was cleaned, he returned to the bedroom and found his sleeping bag, crawling inside and completely closing it up so he could just hide from the world for a little while, hand over his mouth the further stifle the quiet sobs that escaped him.

He was a terrible father who should be taking care of his daughter, but at least someone he trusted was doing so while he tried to deal with how tight his chest felt.

He really hated talking about his mother. It always ended pretty much like this.

The following day Diana was acting like it never happened for the sake of her father. She had woken up hours later and heard Hizashi with Aizawa. How it hurt to look at her or see her like that. Which in turn made her feel even worse. So she wouldn’t do it anymore and she wouldn’t tell or ask her dad anything more.

Hey Di!” Kirishima called when he saw the orange hair but his typical large smile fell when he noticed the look on her face by the shoe lockers. Frowning himself he quickly went over. She wasn’t allowed to be upset and he would fix that.

Walking into class with Kirishima, her face was pink and a surprised confused. While Kirishima was shy smile and his face equally pink. Mina came to Diana’s desk next to Shinsou to ask what that was about, making Diana shrug faintly. “I uh…I was upset about something and Kiri came to check on me. That’s all.” She mumbled softly.

However during class breaks Mina bombarded Kirishima with questions until he finally broke and told her at a vending machine only for Mina to rush back into the room and interrupt Diana’s conversation with Shinsou.

Why didn’t you tell me he asked you out and kissed you!” Mina snapped, Diana’s eyes widening as the fox began to wave her hands around.

It’s not like that! He asked me to go to the arcades with him after school to cheer me up and simply kissed my cheek without thinking! That’s all!” Diana explained, knowing Kirishima sometimes talks and acts without thinking first especially if one of his friends are sad.

Shinsou tried not to pay attention, tried to just keep his head down and focus. But this was terrible. It made his chest hurt in a way he couldn’t exactly explain. Jealousy, most likely. He wasn’t an idiot and he knew he liked Diana, but he also knew he had to focus.

That didn’t make hearing all the rumors flying around the room any easier to hear. He had no right, he decided to keep to himself and this was the price he paid.

Once class was over, before Diana could escape to meet up with her friend, Aizawa ran into her. “Can I... talk to you for a few minutes?” He requested, motioning toward the office to indicate where he wanted to chat. “It’s important.” Before he could lose his nerve.

Actually Sho...” Hizashi began to say, standing up with Diana in his arms. It was worth a shot at least..especially after the young girl seemed so sad when just trying to make Aizawa happy.

You should take her. Stay with her. She’s your daughter and…she hadn’t meant to upset you. I think she was just trying to make you proud or happy by showing she looks like you…” Hizashi offered while looking down at his step daughter. Curious little thing that always worked as hard as possible just to make her fathers proud of her and to show her friends she wanted to be alongside them.

She asks about you a lot you know. After or between classes. Diana knows you don’t like talking about yourself and doesn’t want to upset you. So she comes to me and I tell her the minimal of things. But she just wants to get to know you, Shouta. She spent 15 years without you…

“We both know that’s for the best, Hizashi.” He whispered mostly to himself at that last part about them being apart for so long. “There are some things that just don’t need to be talked about. Like how she looks exactly like my mother.” He choked a little on that last word, quickly turning to face away from the blonde.

He cursed himself internally for the helpless tears that gathered in his eyes. She looked so much like his mother and god, he missed her more than anything in that world. He would give anything to have her back. “We just don’t need to talk about that.” He quickly wiped a hand across his eyes but the tense, barely controlled tone of his voice would easily give him away to his husband for nearly a decade.

“Talking about the past won’t do anyone any good... So will you just take care of her please?” He wasn’t in any shape two. He was moments away from an emotional breakdown and he hated how talking about his mother made him feel so small and helpless.

The boy’s former teacher nodded his approval when Midoriya picked a good box. “That’s the one I use.” He added as he helped the young man place it in the cart. “See, that wasn’t so difficult. Now let’s go pick out some food bowls.”

Picking out food bowls and toys went much smoother. The toys were cheap enough so he got a bunch.

“She has so much energy right now. We had to move all of our shoes.” Tora had kept going after the laces.

“I’ve found that my cats are more likely to play with the wrappers of the toys than the actual toys themselves. No need to spend too much money, just throw a ball of paper her way and she’ll play with it.” He encouraged. He had a lot of experience with buying toys that his cats ignored instantly.

He put some back. But kept the little dangly stick toy and a ball.

“Do they really like boxes as much as the internet says they do?” There were so many videos of cats in boxes.

“Me and my partner brought home a new table, opened the box and within fifteen seconds there were three cats inside it.” He explained simply enough. His cats couldn’t get enough of boxes. He also related to the need to be in a safe, enclosed space.
