That was dumb

@notunwise / notunwise.tumblr.com

I'm 50% superheroes, 35% maths, 10% bisexual and I'm not sure about the remaining 5%. This tumblr, though, is 95% superheroes.

Won’t that only solve 75% of your problems?

The book solves half of your problems, not all of them

Say you have 8 problems. You read the book, and you have 4 problems. You read the book again gets rid of HALF, of those 4 problems. So you’re left with two. Out of the 8 problems, 6 were resolved and 6/8 is 75%.

Finally Tumblr can do math

So, what you’re saying, is that if I buy infinite books, I will solve all of my problems, because the sum as n approaches infinity starting at 1 of (½)^n equals 1, which would be 100% of my problems.

No, you will only ever be able to become infinitely close to solving all of your problems, like this:

Please stop explaining math to me im gay

that’s why radioactive material is such a bitch! it only ever deteriorates relative to its mass so it will never completely vanish

This post is pushing me to the limit

You know, you could just buy enough books to cut your problems down to one and hope it’s one you can solve on your own.

If your problems are truly integer in nature, eventually you hit the point where the infinite divisibility model fails.  Then, each new book has a 50% chance of solving your one remaining problem.

Unfortunately, problems are not a static set, and you are likely to gain new problems along the way.  Problems like, “Where do I put all these books?”

If your problems are truly integer in nature, I feel bad for you son

I got infinitely divisible problems but a book ain’t one.

let me get this straight

at one time, the HPDH2 script had draco walking across the courtyard to his parents

until he saw that harry was alive

at which point he shouted

and ran back

across the courtyard

away from his parents

to harry

And that’s when he throws his wand to Harry to use, knowing Harry very very likely doesn’t have his own wand anymore, and Harry uses Draco’s wand in the final battle (like he does in the book).

I know the awkward hug was probably funnier but

It would have been so good I’m

Queer superheroes recs (from the Montreal Comiccon 2019 panel)

Thank you to everyone who came to the queer superheroes panel this year! It had been a while for me, and it changed quite a lot from what I used to do. Mostly I chose to give emphasis to very different issues, and I like it that way (although I’m still a bit nostalgic of what the panel used to be 5-10 years ago, in a way…) So at the end of the panel I gave out some recs, and because they, too, have changed a lot, I’m making a whole new post instead of editing and reblogging one of the old ones. I link all the comics to a way to buy them, even if they’re sold out, mostly so you can have a reference to which run exactly I’m recommending, because let’s be real, there are usually 3 vastly different comic series for every title. TV shows BATWOMAN STARTS ON OCTOBER 6th please watch it!! Black Lightning Doom Patrol Young Justice Runaways Supergirl Umbrella Academy Legends of Tomorrow Arrow (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Flash and Gotham all have queer characters, but not in a significant enough way that I really want to rec them.) Comics: Marvel Young Avengers - Heinberg's initial run, The Children's Crusade and Gillen's run Runaways - all of it: The Complete Collection volume 1 volume 2 volume 3 volume 4, followed by Battleworld and the recent volumes by Rainbow Rowell (3 volumes out so far, volume 4 coming out in October) Dark Wolverine vol. 1 and 2 (there's an omnibus for those that have those and a bunch more things with Daken) Daken: Dark Wolverine 1 X-Treme X-Men (2013) : volume 1 volume 2 volume 3 Venom - Mike Costa's run except volume 1 (volume 1 is before Venom and Eddie get back together, no one needs it): volume 2 volume 3 volume 4 First Host Loki: Agent of Asgard, there's an omnibus coming out in December, just go for it. Iceman (2017) and Iceman (2018) volume 1 volume 2 and volume 3 Comics: DC Batwoman: Elegy volume 1 volume 2 volume 3 volume 4 Gotham Central: the 4 volumes exist separately, but there is also an omnibus Secret Six (2014): volume 1 volume 2 volume 3 volume 4 Harley Quinn (2014) - the entire run + extras is collected in 2 omnibus (omnibus 1 omnibus 2) or 6 regular-size volumes: volume 1 volume 2 volume 3 volume 4 volume 5 volume 6 Midnighter (2015) volume 1 volume 2 Midnighter and Apollo (2016) Comics: Other The Authority (starting in 1999) - there is no way I can link to all the volumes... Wikipedia has a list of the collected editions you can refer to... Enigma (by Peter Milligan) Oath: An Anthology of New Queer Superheroes - this one is a weird rec because I just realised there's no way to buy the ebook anymore? I don't know what happened, but if I'm just bad a Google, know that it exists. Novels: The Posterchildren by Kitty Burroughs - this is the link for the ebook. The paper version exists but is harder to find. Hero by Perry Moore Fanvid: "Straightening up the house" by Eruthros "Superheroes can't be gay" by Kollektivet

Where Are the Queer Superheroes? (Montreal Comiccon 2019)

So I’m hosting a panel this weekend at Montreal Comiccon! It’s been a while because of babies, but hey, I’m back! If you’re around, here’s the info:

Where Are the Queer Superheroes?
Time and place: Sunday July 7th, 3:30PM, room 512A (Salle NAD)
Description: Queer superheroes are slowly getting some visibility, but they are still very hard to find. Will we get one in a DC or MCU movie anytime soon? (The powers that be are saying 2020). In the meantime, there ARE some comics to read and TV shows to watch with queer superheroes - join in to hear about the history of queer superheroes and the current state of affairs.

A big chunk is about mainstream this year: MCU, movies, Netflix... Still some comics, some history, and some recs, too!

And I’ll be giving out a few comics to the attendees.

Come say hi if you can!

holy fuck.

We really going to ignore the fact that he donated once and is just using the same screenshot over and over?

Edit:

To clarify, I have no issue with someone donating.  I’m pro-choice myself.  The issue is he donates once when he says he’s going to donate each time, just so he can virtue signal about how he refuses to engage with someone.

Furthermore, I have issues with him replying to any criticism with this.  You can criticize the smug pride in not engaging in debate and beating your opposition, yet he’ll assume you’re pro-life as a result.

He’s being a smug prick who is playing you all like a fiddle to get jerked off and you’re all falling for it.

Jsyk, it is not the same screenshot. It is the same screenshot preview because obviously there is a default page PP sends you to when you donate, but if you go on his twitter you'll be able to click on the screenshot previews and get the whole pics and see the time changes (and sometimes other details also).

I’m really into Venom recently.

So have Eddie Brock asking a priest for relationship advice now that he’s finally back with Venom, but their relationship doesn’t quite feel the same.
