to all my researchers, students and people in general who love learning: if you don't know this already, i'm about to give you a game changer

the basic rundown is: you use the search bar to enter a topic, scientific paper name or DOI. the website then offers you a list of papers on the topic, and you choose the one you're looking for/most relevant one. from here, it makes a tree diagram of related papers that are clustered based on topic relatability and colour-coded by time they were produced!

for example: here i search "human B12"

i go ahead and choose the first paper, meaning my graph will be based around it and start from the topics of "b12 levels" and "fraility syndrome"

here is the graph output! you can scroll through all the papers included on the left, and clicking on each one shows you it's position on the chart + will pull up details on the paper on the right hand column (title, authors, citations, abstract/summary and links where the paper can be found)

you get a few free graphs a month before you have to sign up, and i think the free version gives you up to 5 a month. there are paid versions but it really depends how often you need to use this kinda thing.

btw most universities to my knowledge keep their reading lists behind access barriers (ie. only students enrolled at the institution on the course in question can see them) so i thought i’d just let you all know that durham university has all of its reading lists available online for free without needing student access. do with this information what you will.

september 21st, wednesday

It was quite a saturating day. I felt like I was running and running, not stopping to let myself breath, the entire day. Yet, I still don't feel like I was productive enough.

But these are also the kind of days where I feel blessed to have the company of my friend, to have a shoulder, always to rely on, to see them laugh and find life beautiful with all its hardships, with the exhaustion that it brings, just because I have friends to hold my hand through this.

Currently preparing for tomorrow's physics lesson.

Eagerly waiting to have the biryani my mum made for dinner.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) has finally approved the new definition of a museum:

God I hope the future is kinder. I hope that they have it figured out better. I hope people don't have to work so much for so little. I hope there's time to explore passions and interests and skills. I hope people get the support they need. I hope the people from the future look back at our problems and are bewildered by them, like I'm confused by how they used to put poisonous lead in make-up, just... "how did they ever think that was okay? How did they live like that?" I hope the cruelties and hidden poisons of our world are one day so distant that they're used as fun facts in trivia games. Please be kinder, future
