in the meantime, though, some of the most enigmatic of unova's fauna. getting accurate population measures of these guys is a real difficult feat, zorua in particular tend to spend most of their time out of their dens disguised as a more imposing or better-camouflaged pokemon.

zoroark are very rarely seen, and it's thought they are indeed very uncommon, but it's often impossible to determine without intense observation if another pokemon is a zoroark in disguise. furthermore, researchers attempting to scout out zoroark often find themselves trapped in their illusions, and become lost in the woods, scared off by nightmarish visions, or simply turned back towards from where they came.

(and the fact that these two can have a habit of mimicking humans doesn't help research efforts either.)
