This is saied-1977 summing up the attitude of the blank profiler.  “I don’t have time to fill in a long profile, you can spend your time getting to know me.  Trust me, I’m worth all the time, and I’ll dictate how much is needed.”

Not only is this attitude lazy and selfish, it entirely negates the advantages of online dating for me.  The reason I put up with all the idiots is because I can read about people I am interested in, maybe find answers to questions I would not be privy to for a while in the ‘real world’ (ie, just how many dates do you have to wait before you find out if someone might want kids?) and therefore it’s quite a time saver.

Anyway, further notes, it turns out that okcupid has fairly even numbers of men and women right across the age ranges, it’s purely cultural / traditional (and boring) that guys message first.

I offered two other apps he could use to stop bugging me.  Instead he carried on telling me how great I am.

I’m choosing to waste my time (for this blog) but I have no idea why he’s choosing to waste his.  Bizarre.

I can’t decide what part is my favourite… it could be that if ladies want to be his buddy they should be trim, but not sexy or pretty cos that brings pressure. Or that lazy gals don’t understand the concept of showers. Or that men will address me based on how I dress. Or his little homophobic rant. Or it could be all of his messages, none or which were in a response to anything I said.

Nope, my fav bit is all the evil things black people do all over the world. Coming from a black people.

I can’t even argue with him, he’s too stupid.

Agreed, I also like the “don’t be brainwashed by religion” requirement followed by the claim that he spends his time “constantly reading the ward [sic] of God” and that he can’t do without the grace of God.

Um... what?

This is RainManred.  He couldn’t be bothered to fill in his profile, no wait, he was trying to be mysterious.

He totally misses my ironic use of “I guess it must work sometimes” and takes it as an invitation to hate on ‘other women’.  Wally.

Yay! I love it when guys try to get me to join in their attempt at judging other women.

Secondly, I don’t think he meant to be funny when he used the words “PC World”

Finally, his gift consisted of taking inspiration from my username, Jaybells and trying to match it up with a name.  Such talent *swoon*

So here’s the weekend’s long read.

I think the TL;DR summary would be “Erm... what?”

This is evergreenman007 he is quite odd.  I decided to occupy his time if he was going to continue to be insulting, to save anyone else the anguish.

I’m not sure if this guy has genuine problems and needs counselling or something, but he is an adult, and is free to make his own decisions.  Hopefully now the he has abandoned this profile he is reevaluating and will make some changes.

The dinner / Snickers story genuinely confused me.  Is he trolling?  Is he actually in need of a carer?  I’ve assumed he’s just an epic loser, but this interaction does worry me a little.

I do like the assumption that women who don’t reply are probably fake profiles.  As if there would be some kind of catfish profile, who after hooking some desperate loner, would then not reply.  What?
