Dashing into the main chamber, weapon at the ready to strike him down, she stopped, only to find the room empty. The only thing that gave company to her there were the books, bound to their shelves by seals and protections. Forbidden tomes that hadn’t seen the light of day for ages upon ages. He was gone... Cursing the Twelve, she hissed and rubbed her forehead in frustration. She was too late to catch him there.

To pacing she took, moving around the room to search the piles of tomes strewn about. Pile after pile, the scent grew stronger, until she came across the strongest of them. There it was, laid out atop a pile so hastily gone through. A relic, ancient and powerful if tapped properly into. She could best him in strength and fury, but speed... speed was the only thing that had kept him alive. His slender Elezen body and lighter armor gave him an edge. Twas something she would not underestimate again.

Picking the old tome up from the pile, she glanced upon the page, taking note of the details; the old script, a crude map, and the hand-drawn diagrams that covered the page. Thump! The sound echoed through the empty, winding halls as she closed the tome and tucked it safely away. R’Ghil had no interest in the man before, but perhaps now that they were after a relic of power, he might change his mind.

Faye had to hurry, picking up her pace to a sprint. Time was of the essence if he had discovered something of power to use against her. Ever stronger the scent grew the farther she ran. Weapon drawn, the head of her lance lit aflame, burning with bright, fiery fervor.

The scent grew stronger the deeper she went through the Great Library’s halls. There seemed books strewn everywhere, more so than the usual. Claw marks riddled those old, dusty leather covers. Faye knew that it was him... it had to be. He wouldn’t stand a chance against her a second time, a fact that lead her to believe that he was likely searching for an object of power to augment himself. She knew that he could not be suffered to live. The chaos and destruction that he could cause would have long-lasting ramifications that posed a threat to Faye finally living a more peaceful life.

Yet another time that I find myself here within these seemingly endless halls...

Entering the Great Library, Faye tread quietly, scanning the area with a look of caution about her. Her nostrils flared; His scent was strong here. The one as she was, that she had so nearly dispatched before and so close to the cost of her own life. Onward she went, deeper into the towering, dimly lit halls.
