inhales ok

THIS is a mega folder containing literally everything rwby-related that is available right now on roosterteeth (+v9). rwby, fairytales, world of remnant, the grimm campaign, ice queendom (sub and dub), vtubing, all the behind-the-scenes stuff. everything.

plus soundtracks for every volume + IQ, and drm-free epubs.

i will add any additional rwby content released during the wind down period as it becomes available. V1-8 have an english subtitle track embedded in the files, V9 does not because it came from CR. IQ dub has english subtitles. and for the sake of completeness i pulled all the non-english subs available on CR for V1-9 as well, those are in there as loose .ass files for the time being.

whenever possible, buy physical media. learn how to strip drm out of digital content that you own and make it a habit to do so.

archive responsibly 👍

(Places a button in front of you)

Whatever you do, don’t press the button, all right?

people it’s been less than a minute. Just don’t press the button. How hard can it be?

I literally just—

Don’t press the button! Very simple concept

That still counts, you know. Because then you’ll have pressed it.

What will it take to leave this poor button alone as intended…

I’m going to bed. Surely my button will be left alone in the meantime.

Just don’t press it while I’m asleep, okay? I’m trusting you, Tumblr

Tumblr…

Have you considered that the button shouldn’t be pressed? Have you?

Thanks for at least trying…

Why, thank you

new Containment installed

Should be harder to break this time…

Appreciating those of you fencing off the button, putting it at heights, and similar things. Good to see some of us out here are sensible.

I take a pickaxe and free the button. Then I headbutt it.

Why are you doing this to me

I stay silly :3

I don’t see why this needs more notes. No more notes needed.

inspired by the scariest words my dm has ever said to me and the subsequent coolest (AND SCARIEST) scene of my life

im so glad that this post in particular kinda blew up, if really just for the look on that same dm's face when i showed him that the funnie little meme i made about his brilliant terrifying line now has 1800 notes on tumblr. i actually treasure that honestly. it was a fantastic look on his face

the default way for things to taste is good. we know this because "tasty" means something tastes good. conversely, from the words "smelly" and "noisy" we can conclude that the default way for things to smell and sound is bad. interestingly there are no corresponding adjectives for the senses of sight and touch. the inescapable conclusion is that the most ordinary object possible is invisible and intangible, produces a hideous cacophony, smells terrible, but tastes delicious. and yet this description matches no object or phenomenon known to science or human experience. so what the fuck

this is what ancient greek philosophy is like

False! “Sightly” is a positive word, so the default way for things to work is good as well.

The true most ordinary object is beautiful, horrible sounding, very smelly, intangible, and delicious.

I still don’t think it matches anything in existence but to truly understand a thing one must know its true nature.

"touchy" is also a word! however it's mostly used for things that aren't objects, like subjects of conversation. it either means "oversensitive and irritable" or "requires careful handling/wording, delicate"

i think the second one works well for our hypothetical object. so we can use that.

therefore, the Default Object is:

  • beautiful
  • makes a horrendous sound
  • smells absolutely awful
  • is very fragile
  • tastes delicious

and i still cannot think of anything that matches this

behold, the default object!

Tumblr's reply to the situation with CEO's transphobia is pathetic and you should not be thanking them for doing the bare minimum of saying he's not speaking for them. They fucking thanked that bitch.

The affected trans women are still banned.

A transphobic manchild offered no proper apology. Or stopped. He is also still in his position.

Tumblr is still factually transphobic. Keep pushing.

Yet another deleted blog, fantastic

They know what they’re doing. They know exactly what they’re doing when they see their users speaking out and nuke them. There is no error or compromise here, this is active malice on staff’s part and they will continue to treat black and trans bloggers like dirt if you just let them.

One thing i keep seeing people say irt Yuzu is that "they deserve it, they were paywalling the emulator on patreon to make money off of TotK!! if they didnt have a patreon / if they didnt have early access, this wouldnt have happened! thats what they get for piracy!"

1. It is 100% legal to make a for-profit emulator. That was the outcome of the Sony VS Bleem lawsuit in 1998, which Bleem won. They went bankrupt afterwards however due to Sony continuously stalling the case and the sheer amount of legal fees that are needed to handle a lawsuit, which is probably what Nintendo was actually trying to do to Tropical Haze. Not wanting to go completely bankrupt, they decided to settle for a much smaller fee, with the agreement to discontinue distributing the emulators.

2. Yuzu was never once paywalled. All they did was provide the prebuilt binary for experimental builds one week ahead of the public release and access to a VIP support channel on their discord, but Yuzu is open source and you have always been able to build the latest version yourself for free, and PineappleEA also provided free to download unofficial builds of the latest versions of Yuzu.

3. Tropical Haze has always been staunchly antipiracy and if you asked questions or posted crashlogs that indicated you were not legally dumping your own copies of the games you would be promptly banned and denied support. Unlike Ryujinx, the other switch emulator who began patching things based on the leaked copy of the game, Yuzu refused to support the leak and did not start working on making the emulator support the game until after the game was officially out and they could dump their own copy of the game.

Tropical Haze were not doing anything illegal. Nintendo is just a very, very rich powerhouse who decided they didn't like what they were doing and were going to make their own laws.

Nintendo continuously describes emulation as illegal altogether, when this is obviously not the case, and is aggressively against homebrew even for consoles they do not support any longer.

Let's not forget that after they officially stopped supporting the 3ds, closed down its servers and its store, they pushed out an update specifically with the intention of breaking current homebrew methods so that people would not be able to give further life to the console they purchased. Why did they make Tropical Haze discontinue Citra? A 3DS emulator? What piracy are they stopping here? The 3DS has been discontinued and its games have been out of production for half a decade. There is quite literally no money that ever reaches Nintendo from the 3DS any longer.

They did this purely because they have zero interest in the preservation of games and solely in the money that lines their pockets. If the 3DS is no longer profitable, then nobody is allowed to play its games any longer. It doesn't matter that Tropical Haze was following all the rules, Nintendo does what it wants.

Stop eating the boot of the company that just wants to bleed you dry.
