Brock literally hung tight until his dad came home, gave said dad a stern shit-talking about how much of a worthless deadbeat he was to his face, refused to set one foot out of Pewter City until he was sure the dude would stay and take care of his damn kids, and then left to follow the dreams he was never allowed to follow because he was too busy cleaning up his parents goddamn mistakes.

So I was looking at Biden’s plans to help people with disabilities. Here’s some stuff he wants to do that would make a big, measurable difference:

- Increasing SSI benefits to at least 100% of the Federal Poverty Line (at the moment, this would be an increase of about $3000/year. That would be REALLY HELPFUL.)

- Increase the asset limits for SSI and SSDI - which haven’t been increased in more than 35 years. Right now if you have more than $2000 at any time, you lose your benefits.

- Marriage equality for disabled people! - For people on SSI be able to get married without losing our benefits! (As it stands right now, you can lose your benefits even if they suspect you’re ACTING like you’re married - the “holding out as married” rule.)

I’m about out of spoons tonight, but go read it! If even SOME of it gets passed, it could be really good!

This is in contrast to the Republican position, which is *checks notes* “If they’re going to die, they’d better do it, and decrease the surplus population”.

(Seriously, if Trump gets re-elected, I, and many other disabled people, will be so entirely fucked. He wants to destroy Social Security, I would be homeless and starving in the streets.)

Please, if you have disabled people in your life (or even if you don’t), consider that this election could cost them their lives. Some of these proposals can keep disabled people in this country from becoming homeless, dying or losing benefits.  Two more things from this that are really, REALLY good.  Expand access to tax-advantaged savings accounts, ABLE accounts, which provide people with disabilities a way to pay for “qualified disability-related expenses, such as education, housing and transportation.” Biden will work to pass the ABLE Age Adjustment Act, which will make ABLE accounts available to 6 million additional adults with disabilities, including 1 million veterans. Explanation: So an ABLE account is one of only a few ways that disabled people can save and invest money above $2000 without losing benefits. It’s a separate bank account the person can use for a very long list of “qualifying expenses” including shelter, food, transportation, healthcare, etc. In many states, these accounts can’t be clawed back, which means that after the person dies the state can’t swoop in and seize them (if you’re on Medicaid in a lot of states, guess what - after you die the state can legally take your assets to “repay” the costs of your medical care. But not ABLE accounts, in some states).  Unfortunately right now there’s a caveat that a person has to have had their disability or illness begin before age 26 to qualify.  The ABLE Age Adjustment Act would make these accounts available to disabled whose disability/illness began before age 46 - which would mean it would be available to many more people who need it.  Reverse damage done to Social Security rules by the Trump Administration. President Trump announced that he wants to change the Social Security rules for people who get disability benefits, including SSI and SSDI. His proposed change would require many to re-verify their disability every two years, a tough enough process to get through once, targeting adults with disabilities who are close to retirement, children with disabilities, and people with certain medical conditions including cancer and behavioral disorders. If approved by the Trump Administration, Biden will rescind this harmful proposal.

Not gonna lie with the edit it really does drive home that she wasnt a princess or a formidable bender……..it shows that underneath that shes just a child forced to be a pawn.

Someone asked me to edit her crying without make-up, thought i would add. Thank you, i’m glad so many people are seeing exactly what i wanted to get across with those edits! :D

You know what I like about this? Without the make-up Azula looks like Zuko. She has the same chin, the same cheek bones, the same smile, and even the same look of hurt when she’s shamed by her father.  But the make-up makes her look like Ozai. A fitting allegory all things considered.

it’s funny how mia fey always comes across as a wise, calm, confident mentor who knows what she’s doing, when in reality, she is the ultimate ‘bullshit ‘til you make it’ person in the game. that’s her whole technique as a lawyer. that’s what she’s taught phoenix. if phoenix is a masterful bullshitter, mia fey is a god-level bullshitter, so much so that when phoenix is in a bad situation while working on a case and feels like there’s nothing more to do but accept defeat, she comes back from the dead not to give him direct clues that would make solving the case easier, but to tell him ‘no, phoenix, you haven’t given your all yet, man. there’s still so much bullshitting you can do. the judge’s eye isn’t even twitching, dude, there’s still so much time to talk about how the witness didn’t see a tiny scratch on the floor or some shit, go for it’
