Erin smirked softly at Gigi but then went back to staring down at her plate which she had hardly touched her food. Sure Erin had been back to her normal self, but the pain of not having her baby here was too much to take. Her thoughts speeding through her head a million miles per second of all the things that could go bad and all the things that could go right, which there were few. “Children if you would excuse me.” Erin said suddenly and stood up from the table and the left the dining room and in a hurry. She walked up the stairs to her room and let out a deep breath. Pulling herself together as she sat herself on her bed. “I can’t believe this is happening.” She muttered under her breath.

“That boy” Gigi chuckled as she lit her pipe. “Some things don’t ever change do they?” She wondered her eyes soft, still a little on edge at times over the Elle situation, more worried about how Erin was handling things with the baby. The Ymbryne picked up a napkin and dabbed the mouth on the back of Claire’s head and offering the girl a smile.

“Exactly. She does. I mean, it’s way deep down and really only ever comes out if she has to protect us–and that’s only if we deserve it, which we hardly ever do,” she chuckled. “Fair enough. I’d be happy to keep you company. You know, I think you’re one of the only people I can actually stand to be around for a long period of time,” she smiled.

“So you don’t believe that you deserve that affection from her?” Gigi asked in confusion at the word ‘Deserve’ that Adelise used. “I will happily take that compliment, most people avoid me like the plague.”

She shrugged and said “Oh, she loves us–hardly, but she does love us. My family’s really fucked up and complicated but, still.. I’m used to it. I don’t know if I could survive in a super emotional family. it’d be too odd.” She smiled at Gigi and said “That sounds pretty great, actually.”

“I can completely agree with that sentiment, a normal family...Well that is far to bizarre for ones like us” she chuckled. “I suppose it is something to know that she does have love there for you” she added. “Then please do so, I need the company”

“I mean, maybe. Probably. Honestly, though, I haven’t really talked to Felicia about it. Or Delaney for that matter,” she shrugged. She smiled at Gigi in adoration. “Teach me your ways. Seriously, I really don’t know how to be positive, especially these days.”

“I just can’t understand your family, if I had a daughter...I’d love her with all of my hart” Gigi admitted, she felt terrible for Adelise at times. “Well, spend more time with me and I’ll show you my ways young Padawan” 

“Yeah, that didn’t make Felicia too happy…” she chuckled. “But I mean, Delaney is an adult. If she wants to start a family, she can. And I mean, I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea but it’s also not my life. And my mother needs to get over not liking being a grandmother. Not everything is about her, after all.” She shrugged and said “Yeah, I guess. I mean, she doesn’t like that I go out and party all the time but she literally does the same thing so I really don’t want to hear her criticism. I admire your optimism, Gigi.” She nodded and said “I can only imagine… But hopefully she can get her child back soon?”

“Maybe it’s the fact Delany had been seeing a demon? I imagine it must be a little disconcerting to weaker species like us?” Gigi offered, trying her best to understand Felicia’s motives for it. “I always try to be optimistic, i have been all my life and look at me now, I’m no longer blind and I have a family” she reminded. “I only hope so, as at this rate we won’t last.”

“Yeah, that’s what I heard, too.. I wasn’t here to see her but we keep in touch. Or try to, at least..” She shrugged and said “I mean, I’d like to think so… I used to think that Delay was the favorite but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that she can’t stand either one of us.” She just shook her head and said “That doesn’t matter. The only time that she sees me as an adult is when I need to take responsibility for my fuckups.” She nodded and thought about the situation. “Huh.. Well, that’s definitely shitty. Why’d they take the child?”

“Well, Delany upset your mother because she had a child, so I heard. Felicia doesn’t like the idea of being a grandmother.” Gigi pointed out “So maybe you’re right, but at least you’re not in the complete bad books with her?” she tried. “I think you two could work on this, you’re mother and daughter.” she then took a breath “Well, she was their child...I...It’s really complicated. but Erin is obviously heartbroken because it was her baby that shes now missing out on”

“Look, I’ve seen the rare tender moments. They definitely exist, they’re just far and few. Which, to be honest, maybe my mother had the right idea with putting the fear of god in your children,” she laughed. “I love to fuck with her but god damn, she’s terrifying when she’s truly angry. But I understand what you’re saying and like most thing, you’re probably right.” She thought for a moment and said “Okay, but… Maybe this is too simple of a fix but can’t you just tell her ex to fuck off?.. I mean, they are her ex after all.”

“Do you think so? I had heard that your older sister was around a few months ago, Delay I believe...” Gigi chuckled “Do you think that Felicia gave you both the same treatment?” she wondered. “But you’re an adult now, she does have to respect that...Even if scary when angry” she sighed, before she gave a little shrug “Well, there’s children involved....And the ex well, took her child from her...”

“Well, you don’t have to explain. However, I’m all ears whenever you want to,” she smiled. “I do what I can.” She thought about it for a moment and then shrugged. “I mean, it’s definitely a possibility… Not that she’d ever admit it.” She couldn’t help but smile when she mentioned having found someone. “Good for you! Who is it? Wait, why? What’s going on?..”

“It’s honestly-” she then trailed off “Probably better to explain when I actually understand what I’m explaining” she said with a small laugh. “You don’t know, she might do. My mother is perceived as a monster that has terrorised the world for over 3,000 years and yet even she has her tender moments, her wife the same.” Gigi said simply “Some monsters, they are merely misguided.” she added. “Her name is Erin, she’s another Ymbryne- actually helped cure my sight impairment. But she has been having a horribly trying time with her ex, it’s put pressure on us immensely.”

“Wow, sounds a lot like my family,” she chuckled. “Yeah, I do. I can see it in your eyes. Just because that’s not your life anymore doesn’t mean that that’s not who you still are.” She rolled her eyes and said “Yes. Again. But I mean, it certainly works. I just need to figure out why exactly she needed me back here in the first place.” She smiled at her old friend, happy to see a friendly face. “I really have missed you. How have things been here? What have I missed, if anything?”

“I doubt that I could really explain the dysfunctions of my family...My parents...” she trailed off, not wanting to go right into it since she still couldn’t wrap her head around the very idea. “Look at you, making me feel better” she chuckled, feeling happier for the moment especially with having been so down. “Have you thought that maybe deep down your Mother may have actually missed you?” she wondered. “I found a relationship....But...It has been causing me stress.”

“That’s good, though, that you found your family. What are they like?” she asked, curious. “Well, I still think of you as that painter,” she chuckled. “Oh, just here and there. I went to Amsterdam and then spent a bit of time in Dublin. And I would’ve continued my travels if my darling mother hadn’t cut me off. So now I’m back.”

“Well, they are....Family” Gigi began weakly “Dysfunctional, crazy....Complicated” The brunette murmured, twirling one of the blue locks of her hair round her finger as she spoke. “You do?” she then asked, raising an eyebrow “She cut you off again? Though I suppose if it gets your attention and brings you back here..” she said smiling slightly “It’s good to have a friend back in the area...”
